है। सर्द हवाओं के बीच पूवरेत्तर रेलवे रूट पर प्रमुख गाड़ियां विलंब से चल रही हैं। 1 कोहरे के कारण ट्रेन यात्र पहाड़ चढ़ने जैसी हो गई है। ट्रेनों के इंतजार में लोग स्टेशन के प्रतीक्षालय में दुबकने को मजबूर हैं। दूर-दराज के गांवों से आए लोग तो स्टेशन परिसर में ही कागज आदि जलाकर ठंड से लड़ रहे हैं। इसके बाद भी उनकी ठंड नहीं जा रही। 1बरौनी से नई दिल्ली जाने वाली 12553 वैशाली एक्सप्रेस 2 घंटे लेट थी। इसकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे पिपराइच निवासी मकसूदन परिवार के साथ परेशान थे। उनकी समझ में नहीं आ रहा था कि क्या करें। उनका कहना था कि किसी तरह स्लीपर का टिकट मिला है। अगर नहीं गए तो फिर टिकट के लिए दौड़ना पड़ेगा। वह प्लेटफार्म पर कंबल बिछाकर बच्चों के साथ बैठे थे। इसी तरह सैकड़ों अन्य लोग भी ट्रेन के इंतजार में परेशान रहे। 120 घंटे की देरी से पहुंची वैशाली : मंगलवार को बरौनी से नई दिल्ली जाने वाली 12553 वैशाली एक्सप्रेस 20 घंटे की देरी से दूसरे दिन बुधवार को दोपहर 12 बजे के आसपास गोरखपुर पहुंची। हालांकि, गोरखपुर से लोकमान्य तिलक टर्मिनस जाने वाली 11016 कुशीनगर एक्सप्रेस निर्धारित समय शाम 7.05 बजे से रवाना हुई। रेलवे प्रशासन का कहना है कि रूट डायवर्जन समाप्त होने के बाद गाड़ियां अपने पूर्व निर्धारित मार्ग से चलने लगी हैं। कोहरा के कारण उनकी गति प्रभावित हुई है। 1छोटी नहीं हो रही कतार, कंफर्म टिकट का टोटा : ट्रेनों के विलंब से चलने और ठंड के बाद भी रेलवे स्टेशन की यात्रियों की कतार छोटी नहीं हो रही। रोजाना शाम 4.35 बजे से रवाना होने वाली 12555 गोरखधाम एक्सप्रेस में सीट के लिए दोपहर 12 बजे से ही कतार लग जा रही है। 1 कुशीनगर एक्सप्रेस में भी सीट हासिल करने के लिए कतार समाप्त होने का नाम नहीं ले रही। जनरल टिकट काउंटरों पर भी धक्का-मुक्की जारी है। यही नहीं दिसंबर तक दिल्ली और मुंबई जाने वाली किसी भी ट्रेन में कंफर्म आरक्षित टिकट नहीं मिल रहा। वेटिंग टिकट के लिए भी मारामारी मची है।

ఈనాడు - అమరావతి: వారానికి ఒకసారి నడిచే బెంగళూరు-విశాఖపట్నం ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌ పట్టాలు ఎక్కినా ప్రయాణికులకు మరో సమస్య వచ్చి పడింది. దేశంలో ఎక్కడా లేనివిధంగా ఈ రైలుకు రెండురకాల ఛార్జీల విధానం అమల్లోకి వచ్చింది. బెంగళూరు నుంచి విశాఖపట్నం వరకు తత్కాల్‌ ఛార్జీలు వసూలు చేస్తుండగా.. విశాఖపట్నం నుంచి బెంగళూరుకు డైనమిక్‌ (సువిధ రైలు)ఛార్జీలు అమల్లోకి వచ్చాయి. దీంతో తిరుగుప్రయాణంలో ప్రయాణికులు రెట్టింపు ఛార్జీలు చెల్లించాల్సి వస్తోంది. ఈ రైలును నడిపే విషయంలో తొలి నుంచి పేచీ పెడుతూ వచ్చిన తూర్పుకోస్తా (ఈస్ట్‌కోస్ట్‌) రైల్వే జోన్‌ ఆఖరి నిమిషంలో వెనక్కి తగ్గినట్టేతగ్గి ప్రయాణికులపై భారం మోపింది.
బెంగళూరు-విశాఖపట్నంల మధ్య రద్దీని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని నైరుతి రైల్వే(సౌత్‌వెస్ట్రర్న్‌) చొరవ తీసుకుని వీక్లీ(వారానికి ఒక రోజు) ప్రత్యేక రైలు ప్రవేశపెట్టింది. రెండు, మూడునెలల తిరిగాక ప్రయాణికుల నుంచి డిమాండ్‌ను వివరిస్తూ రెగ్యులర్‌ రైలుగా బోర్డుకు ప్రతిపాదించాలని అనుకుంది. ప్రస్తుతానికి ఈ రైల్లో తత్కాల్‌ ఛార్జీలు వసూలు చేయాలని నిర్ణయించింది. ఇదే విషయాన్ని ఈ రైలు ప్రయాణించే మార్గంలోని ఇతర జోన్లకూ సమాచారం పంపింది. రెగ్యులర్‌ రైళ్ల కంటే తత్కాల్‌ రైల్వే ఛార్జీ విశాఖ వరకు

స్లీపర్‌క్లాస్‌లో రూ. 110 అధికంగా ఉంటుంది. ఈ రైలు తిరుగుప్రయాణం మొదలయ్యే విశాఖపట్నం ఈస్ట్‌కోస్ట్‌ జోన్‌లో ఉంది. అక్కడి అధికారులు మాత్రం సువిధరైలుగా సాఫ్ట్‌వేర్‌లో నమోదుచేయించారు. దీంతో సమస్యగా మారింది.
ఛార్జీల్లో ఎంత తేడా?
సువిధ రైళ్లలో విమాన టికెట్ల తరహాలో ఛార్జీలుంటాయి. టికెట్లు అయిపోయేకొద్ది ఛార్జీ పెరుగుతూ పోతుంటుంది. మొదటి తీసుకున్నవారికంటే ఆ తర్వాత, చివర్లో తీసుకున్నవారు 50 శాతం నుంచి 200 శాతం వరకు అదనంగా చెల్లించాల్సి ఉంటుంది. ఈ రైలుకు ఆదరణ లేదన్న అభిప్రాయం కల్పించడానికే తూర్పుకోస్తా జోన్‌ సువిధ రైలుగా మార్పించిందన్న ఆరోపణలు వ్యక్తం అవుతున్నాయి.
బెంగళూరు(యశ్వంత్‌పూర్‌)-విశాఖపట్నం ఎక్స్‌ప్రెస్‌ రెండువైపులా ఛార్జీల్ని పరిశీలిస్తే..
* బెంగళూరు నుంచి విశాఖకు స్లీపర్‌ క్లాస్‌ ఛార్జీ రూ. 625.
* ఇదే రైలు విశాఖ నుంచి బెంగళూరుకు స్లీపర్‌ టికెట్‌ రూ. 1,865.
* థర్డ్‌ఏసీలో విశాఖకు రూ. 1,685.
* విశాఖ నుంచి బెంగళూరుకు ఇదే రైల్లో రూ. 3,405.

Thanks to the South Western Railway (SWR), the long-pending demand for introduction of an originating train from Vizag to Bengaluru was realised with the launch of the 06579 Yesvantapur-Visakhapatnam weekly special Tatkal express.
Though the East Coast Railway (ECoR) had failed to introduce a direct train to cater to the high demand for berths from Vizag to Bengaluru, it had taken over the special train, launched by the SWR in the past. After running it for sometime, it gave the most inconvenient timings, converted it into a Suvidha special with dynamic fare and finally did not renew it.

software engineer from Bengaluru, Venky, says how popular the special Tatkal express is. “I had booked a bus ticket for Rs.2,500 to travel to Vizag for Deepavali and after seeing on Twitter that SWR was running a Tatkal Special, I cancelled my bus ticket and booked my ticket in the special train. By the time, I completed booking my ticket the availability position came down from 378 to 77 in just half-an-hour.”
“The train was delayed at the starting point itself in view of the late intimation to passengers. All the coaches were jam-packed within four hours after announcement of the train. The timings are very convenient not only to the people of Visakhapatnam but also to those from cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh.”
“During the course of interaction with fellow passengers, I came to know that many had cancelled their bus tickets and were travelling by this train. They all wanted that this train should be made a regular train. The next afternoon around 3.30 p.m., train reached Duvvada, from where the jurisdiction of ECoR starts.
“As SWR took up the mantle of the demands from Vizag, ECoR stopped this train several times and gave clearance to other trains, while our train was made to wait at the outer signal. Finally, our train reached PF no. 5 at 5 p.m. The disgusting acts of ECoR did not end there. They changed the ‘tatkal train’ to ‘Suvidha Special’ with dynamic fare in the return direction. While I paid Rs.650 (sleeper class) from Yesvantapur to Vizag, I found it was Rs.2,000 (sleeper class) in the return journey.”
“I feel that ECoR is playing all sorts of games to get this train cancelled on the plea that this train has no patronage. A new railway zone in AP with headquarters in Visakhapatnam is the only solution to end the injustice from ECoR,” says Venky.
The Railways do not seem to have learnt a lesson even after getting a spate of complaints on Twitter on the unclean coaches and other problems on trains originating/terminating in Visakhapatnam.
Barely a couple of weeks after passengers tweeted on untidy coaches in popular trains like Godavari and LTT express trains, a passenger who travelled by the S1 coach of Godavari express to Hyderabad on October 28, says there is no improvement in the situation.
“The wash basins, both in toilets and outside, were overflowing with water, barely a few hours after the train started from Vizag. One can imagine the plight of those who wish to wash their face or brush their teeth in the early hours,” says R.V. Koteswara Rao of Visakhapatnam.
“To add to our woes, there was no power in the toilets and there was no one to attend to the problems. Beggars were getting into the reserved coaches and travelling short distances and there was no one to check their entry,” he adds.

North coastal andhra people very clear about the asking zone for VSKP. Even Srikakulam MP raised this issue of zonal HQ at vskp many times in parliament. Dont judge it by just new paper reports.
Who told if vizag gets train to delhi like Raj will not be useful for north andhra ?? It will stop at VZM, PVP if goes via Katni. Stops at SLO, RJY, EE, BZA if goes via WL. How come one train will help only originating station ??
Still many VSKP originating train have GNWL upto BZA.

Most of the COA trains wont GNWL to BZA but vskp originating trains have. Even some machilipatnam train not having GNWL to bza.
If new zone comes PSA can be created as a Originating station with Pit lines which is not happening under ECoR.
Also Railway zone is not only for new trains, there are huge issues related to employs and region sentiments. I think North andhra region people can understand better what i am saying.
If south andhra people constantly ignore the issues of north andhra and hatred towards vizag develops it will create much bigger issues to AP state than SCR split.

I have never thought of it as a silly demand. I too was very keen about development of railway facilities in the VSKP, VZM, CHE and the rest of AP that is struggling under ECoR. Your arguments were very concise and informative and I shall try to convey the same idea to others in future. Thank you for that.
I was born and brought up in Kakinada and Vizag and have always closely followed railway developments in both areas. done well. (To be honest, I favor the old 9 zone system and usually put up idealistic arguments about people learning to work together instead of just separating when there are problems. Don't pay attention to that rambling. :) )
However, don't misjudge me for saying this. Speaking only from a railway perspective, unlike the VSKP region, which has a strong reason to demand a separation from it's home zone, the rest of AP has no such extreme problems with SCR and has no reason to demand for a separate zone. So you cannot expect people from here to just start supporting a move to separate from SCR without getting a clear picture as to why such a move has become necessary or what difference it can bring to the concerned regions. At the outset, the new zone doesn't mean as much to the rest of AP as it means to the northern part. Only with a proper communication of the needs and necessities can we get a unanimous support for the idea. And random people demanding diversion of trains from CCT to VSKP here on IRI did not help the situation as far as my reactions here on IRI are concerned.
So, please understand that neither I nor any one else from AP are against VSKP region getting better railway infrastructure. But solely as an RF, I hope you can understand why RF's from the SCR region may not accept the idea of a new zone wholeheartedly as much as they would accept the idea of merging WAT with SCR.

See my friend, Again i am saying dont see it as VSKP region issues alone. If that the case the VSKP region from where highest taxes are getting collected by state, spending more on Capital region at Guntur by state govt, what if people of vskp region people fights for not using our taxes some where ?? again if vizag is part of AP railway it helps atleast 6-7 coastal not alone north coastal AP. Many trains to south can be started as it has more pit lines and also space for expansion. Diversion of CCT trains to VSKP not possible as CCT is terminal but extension of VSKP trains to CCT is possible.

They do use it. I didn't ask for many trains to be run. But just one daily to KCG. Like a standard overnight train for that section, instead of a mix-up of bi-weeklies. Train on wednesday is missing currently.

Hardly anyone in Rayalseema bothered for a new zone. Because they know better than to protest. The state split because coastal Andhra, Krishna, Godavari districts cornered all resources. Many in Rayalseema wanted 3 way split (after split was finalized), because they knew capital, revenue and other developments will all be cornered by those districts.

। छपिया। सोमवार की सुबह तीन बजकर तीस मिनट पर नई दिल्ली से चलकर जलपाईगुड़ी के रास्ते नाहरलागन को जाने वाली गाड़ी संख्या 22412 एसी सुपर फास्ट एक्सप्रेस का पावर स्वामी नारायण छपिया रेलवे स्टेशन पर फेल होने के कारण दो घंटे पैंतालीस मिनट तक ट्रेन डाउन लाइन नंबर तीन पर खड़ी रही। गाड़ी के ड्राइवर ने मेमो के जरिये पावर लोड मीटर न लेने की सूचना स्टेशन मास्टर राजीव पाण्डेय को दी। जिसकी सूचना स्टेशन मास्टर ने कंट्रोल को दी। कंट्रोल के आदेशानुसार गोरखपुर से आ रही बीसीएन 70375 मालगाड़ी ट्रेन का इंजन निकाल कर दूसरे ट्रेन पर जोड़ा गया। तब जाकर 6 बजकर 15 मिनट पर रवाना किया गया।

These special trains will have 18 coaches viz, o­ne AC II Tier, three AC III Tier, ten Sleeper Class, two General Second Class and two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches.

Works on the long-awaited third line connecting Duvvada near Visakhapatnam with Gudur in Nellore district will commence in six months, with the Ministry of Railways allocating necessary funds for the first phase of the project. Once the 620-km line is completed, rail traffic on the ever-busy line between Howrah and Chennai will improve considerably, according to officials.
As many as 120 trains, including 60 express trains, use this route everyday, connecting Duvvada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahumundry, Vijayawada and Gudur. The railways mooted the third line to handle the increasing rush.

Even after suspending some trains, especially goods trains, along the route to give way for express trains, most long-distance trains fail to adhere to schedules. Officials believe that the problem can be resolved once the third line is commissioned. Another advantage is that the new line will enable speedy movement of goods to the two major ports of Howrah and Chennai.
Meanwhile, Vijayawada DRM Ashok Kumar said tenders would be called soon. “If everything goes well, we will commence works in six months,” he added.

The commencement will happen in 6 months.....but as it happens in India always, nobody has mentioned the approx time of completion !!!
It will be quite interesting to see how they will execute construction of another bridge over Godavari & Krishna near Rajamundry & Vijaywada respectively. But overall a good move.

Krishna bridge already has three tracks. Most probably, no new bridge will be constructed on the Krishna. The Arch bridge on the Godavari river already has a provision for adding an extra line. So, the bridge works on the Godavari will also be much simpler and faster than construction of a completely new bridge.

Duvvada-Gudur railway line to boost development of A.P.
The development of Andhra Pradesh is set to receive a big boost, with the Ministry of Railways sanctioning the long-awaited third line connecting Duvvada near Visakhapatnam with Gudur in Nellore district at a cost of nearly Rs. 3,000 crore and allocating half the sum in the first phase.
The final survey has already been completed, and works are scheduled to begin in a few months, according to Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Kumar.

630-km line will ease congestion between Chennai and Visakhapatnam and will be helpful for both passenger and freight movement.
According to a senior official of the Vijayawada Division, a number of trains connecting Vijayawada and Chennai could be diverted to the third line, especially those carrying goods. Moreover, the movement of express and non-express trains will also become faster between the two port cities.
“It will be particularly beneficial to long-distance trains. Though they are given priority over other slow-moving trains, the density of trains between Visakhapatnam and Chennai cause delay. The new line will help in sticking to arrival and departure schedules,” he observed. Even the trading community will be happy with the new line, as it facilitates speedy movement of goods to the two major ports, which are the principal nodes of the rapidly evolving Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor. The Railways will benefit, too, in terms of quick turnover of rakes. It is part of the larger project involving the expansion of the entire Grand Trunk (New Delhi-Chennai) route, which is progressing at a brisk pace, the official said.
