जमशेदपुर. नक्सलियों ने 10 जनवरी को बंद बुलाया है. नक्सली बंद को लेकर चक्रधरपुर और खड़गपुर रेल मंडल में हाई अलर्ट जारी किया गया है. खड़गपुर से लेकर राउरकेला तक आरपीएफ को सघन जांच अभियान चलाने का निर्देश दिया गया है. रेलवे लाइन के अलावा ट्रेनों में भी सुरक्षा के लिए आदेश दिये गये है. रात में ट्रेनों को पायलट कर चलाने का अादेश दिया गया है. ट्रैक की निगरानी के लिए गश्ती दल को लगाया गया है. स्टेशन पर सीसीटीवी कंट्रोल रूम से आरपीएफ जवान को सक्रियता से निगरानी करने को कहा गया है. फुटेज में दिखने वाले संदिग्ध को तत्काल पकड़ने व पूछताछ करने का आदेश दिया गया है.

Hamsafar weekly express trains will run via Perambur in Chennai and Katpadi.
The inaugural special train will leave Kamakhya at 12.15pm on December 25. It will leave Perambur at 10:20am on December 27 and reach Bangalore Cantonment at 5pm on the same day.
It will stop at New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Rampur Hat, Howrah, Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Vizianagaram, Duvvada, Vijayawada, Perambur, Katpadi and Whitefield.

regular service of Train No 12504 / 12503 Kamakhya - Bangalore Cantonment - Kamakhya Hamsafar weekly express trains will begin from Bangalore Cantonment on December 30, 2016.
The train will have 13 AC-3 tier coaches. The facilities would include CCTV cameras, fire and smoke detection systems and tea-coffee vending machines, officials said.
Southern Railway will get two more Humsafar Express trains -- Chennai-Ahmedabad and Tiruchirapalli- Sriganganagar trains.

The railway police on Thursday nabbed two women and recovered from them stolen goods at the Tatanagar railway station . The thieves were identified as Aarik Meera alias Jyoti Ray and Mina Khatoon, both residents of Kharagpur in Bengal.
The railway police have recovered stolen goods like ‘Mangal Shutra’, gold-chains, ear-rings and a purse containing Rs 600 from the possession of those arrested.
Superintendent of railway police, Mohammed Arshi said that acting on a tip off the thieves were nabbed.

While checking at the platforms, the team came across two ladies who were in the mid thirties moving suspiciously. On being asked, one of the ladies, Aarik said they were from Kharagpur. On getting to know they had come from Kharagpur, the police became alert. During the search, the police got several gold and silver ornamnents and also Mangal Shutras in the luggage of the two women," said Arshi.
"After we grilled them, both Aarik and Mina confessed that they had stolen the ornaments from the passengers' purse at the Tatanagar station. The passengers used to nap while waiting for trains in the night, they used to commit the theft,” said Arshi.The superintendent of railway police said for confirmation about information that the two women had come to Tatanagar station three days, they searched the CCTV camera footage and found the tip off to be true.

NASHIK: The Konkan Railway on Sunday ran two trains - one reserved and the other unreserved - from Madgaon to the eastern and northern parts of the country, while passing through north Maharashtra and the Vidarbha region.
The move has brought much cheer to the residents in Nashik as now there is a likelihood of having direct and improved rail connectivity to the Konkan region and beyond.

Patna and Madgaon and Kharagpur on Sunday. The 00124 Madgaon - Patna unreserved special train left Madgaon station around 12.15pm while the 00126 Madgaon - Kharagpur reserved special left Madgaon at 3.30pm.
The trains travel via Ratnagiri, Panvel, Kalyan, Igatpuri and Manmad before reaching Bhusawal and then part ways to Nagpur and Patna.
While the unreserved train reaches the Nashik Road railway station at 3.40am on Monday after travelling for 15.20 hours, the reserved train does not halt at Nashik Road and instead reaches Manmad at 8.50am after having travelled the same distance in 17.30 hours.
Local railway officials said that generally such test runs are conducted by the railways before starting any periodic train on any route. "This is one such train that is likely to see the light of the day in the forthcoming tourist season. But promising regular service would not be possible as it is the Railway Board in New Delhi that makes decisions in this regard," the official said.
The local residents, meanwhile, are elated about the possible new addition of trains to Konkan from Nashik Road and Manmad railway stations.
"The trains on this route will provide the much needed rail connectivity between the two regions as until now we could travel only by road. After the Mahad incident and the poor condition of roads, the time taken to travel similar distances becomes more than double. Reaching Ratnagiri itself takes more than 12 hours, leave along the fatigue of the journey," said Vivek Kolgaonkar, a resident of Nashik and who has relatives in Fonda in the Konkan region.
Sanjay Karekar, hailing from Ratnagiri district, too pointed out that the current timings of the train were the most convenient. "The only available train is Mangala Express that takes an entire day as you board the train in the early hours of the day and alight in the evening - in any direction. At least this train arrives at a decent time at Nashik Road railway station," Karekar said.
Nitin Dabholkar, another passenger, pointed out that the double decker train would actually serve the purpose of travellers moving between Konkan and north Maharashtra.
"As per the information available on the internet, the Manmad-Patna train marks it as inaugural run. We expect the train to start on a weekly basis," said Ghansyam Desai, a resident of Dapoli who has relatives in Manmad town.

Welcome move, especially the reserved train to KGP. Special fare train on a route which does not have a single regular connectivity is a compulsion for the poor people to compulsorily pay very high fare and acts as a dampener.
It is surprising that even after about 2 decades of operation of Konkan Railway, it is not having a regular & directly connectivity with almost 80% section of Mumbai-NGP-HWH which is one of the premier rail routes of IR. Populace in crores residing in the huge geographical tract in the region comprising from Bhusawal/ Akola/ Badnera(Amravati)/ Wardha/ Nagpur/ Gondia/ Durg/ Raipur/ Bilaspur/ Rourkela/ TataNagar/ KGP to Kolkata & adjoining area still have to change trains to enjoy the beautiful & hitherto

unexplored beaches of Konkan region. There is a huge latent tourism potential for Konkan region including Goa from this vast and heavily populated unconnected region.
Various non daily options are possible with two destinations from the two clusters consisting of (Goa/ Manglore/ Ernakulam/ TVC) at one end and (HWH/ RNC/ Korba(BSP)/ NGP) at the other end. Even a suitably timed daily train from HWH-Panvel-MAO-Ernakulam-Allepy-TVC shall be well patronized on this high demand route.

It has been amply stressed that Konkan Region to Bhusawal/ Akola/ Badnera(Amravati)/ Wardha/ Nagpur/ Gondia/ Durg/ Raipur/ Bilaspur/ Rourkela/ TataNagar/ KGP to Kolkata & adjoining area is main focus.
The HWH-TVC train is not intended for the end to end connection. It is intended as a single train solution to the various non-daily connections possible between the two clusters given with one destination from each cluster. is better to have a daily connection encompassing all the destination which will serve the purpose of all.
The whole route shall be on HWH-NGP-Mumbai, Mumbai-MAO-TVC routes which are high passenger demand routes. Targetted traffic is mainly intermediate traffic between
(1) konkan region (railway) (Manglore-Goa-Roha i.e. 750 kms) with (BSL-HWH stretch1500 kms)
(2) Direct connectivity of Navi Mumbai with (BSL-HWH 1500 kms stretch) which is very important
(3) Connectivity of densely populated (Manglore – Kozhikode-Shoranur) 300 km stretch to Central & Eastern India is poor as compared to connectivity of Ernakulam-TVC (via kottayam).
This train may not be preferred choice for TVC – HWH/KGP journey and can accordingly can terminated at Ernakulam instead of TVC. But again the connectivity via kottayam is good but via alleppy is not so good, and also TVC shall be getting several new connectivities with important towns like (Nashik/ Bhusawal/ Akola/ Badnera(Amravti), Rourkela/ Tata Nagar etc. Further extension beyond TVC by about 90 kms to Kanyakumari shall make the train more useful.

রেললাইন জুড়ে ছড়িয়ে রয়েছে মৃতদেহের অংশ। খণ্ড-বিখণ্ড। ভয়ঙ্কর দৃশ্য। আর সেই ছবিই দেখল বাঁকুড়া। দেখল রাজ্যবাসীও। ট্রেনে কাটা পড়ে মৃত্যু হল তিন-তিনটি হাতির। যার মধ্যে দুটি শাবক। অপরটি মা-হাতি। গতকাল সন্ধ্যা সাড়ে সাতটা নাগাদ মর্মান্তিক এই ঘটনাটি ঘটে বাঁকুড়ার বিষ্ণুপুর ও পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের পিয়ারডোবা স্টেশনের মাঝে।
বনকর্মীদের অনুমান, জঙ্গলের মধ্যে দিয়ে লাইন পেরোতে গিয়েই, খড়গপুর-আদ্রা প্যাসেঞ্জারের ধাক্কায় কাটা পড়ে হাতিগুলি। দলে ছিল মোট পাঁচটি হাতি। এর মধ্যে দুটি হাতি বেঁচে গেলেও, মা ও দুই শাবকের মর্মান্তিক মৃত্যু এড়ানো যায়নি।

সবচেয়ে বড়, এই মৃত্যু কি এড়ানো যেত না? দায় কি একেবারেই নেই বন দফতরের? বিষ্ণুপুর ও পিয়ারডোবার মাঝে যে জায়গায় দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে, বছর দুয়েক আগেও সেখানে ট্রেনের ধাক্কায় মৃত্যু হয় একটি হাতির। মূলত দলমা থেকে এরাজ্যে আসা এবং ফিরে যাওয়া, দুক্ষেত্রেই এই পথটিই ব্যবহার করে হাতির দল। জেলায় যে রেসিডেন্সিয়াল হাতিগুলি রয়েছে, অর্থাত্‍ যেগুলি এখানেই থেকে গিয়েছে তারাও বিষ্ণুপুর-পিয়ারডোবার মাঝের এলাকা দিয়ে যাতায়াতে অভ্যস্ত। একদিন নয়, বহুদিন ধরে চলছে এই রুটে হাতিদের আসা-যাওয়া। তবু কেন ঘন জঙ্গলে ঘেরা এই পথটি এলিফ্যান্ট করিডর হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করা হল না? হাতিদের সেফ প্যাসেজের ব্যবস্থা করতে কেন উদ্যোগ নেয়নি বনদফতর? এলিফ্যান্ট করিডর হিসেবে চিহ্নিত করলে স্বাভাবিকভাবেই ট্রেনের স্পিডে লাগাম পড়ত। কমত দুর্ঘটনার আশঙ্কাও। কিন্তু তা করা হয়নি। তবে কি বনদফতরের উদাসীনতারই বলি হতে হত এই তিন-তিনটি হাতিকে? এই অবস্থায় এড়ানো যাচ্ছে না এ প্রশ্নও।

बिछाने, 48.73 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से आमान परिवर्तन और 12,598 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से 17 लाइनों के दोहरीकरण की परियोजनाएं शामिल हैं. केंद्रीय रेल राज्यमंत्री राजेन गोहांई ने राज्यसभा में शुक्रवार को सांसद परिमल नथवाणी द्वारा पूछे गये प्रश्न के उत्तर में यह जानकारी दी.

मंत्री ने बताया कि झारखंड में कुल 12 नयी लाइनें बिछाने की परियोजनाएं हैं. इनमें चतरा-बासुकीनाथ 37 किमी, गोड्डा-पाकुड़ 80 किमी, बरवाडीह-चिरमारी 182 किमी, गया- बोधगया-चतरा, गया-नातेसर (नालंदा) गिरिडीह-कोडरमा 102.5 किमी, हसदीह-गोड्डा 30 किमी, कोडरमा- रांची 189 किमी, कोडरमा-तिलैया 68 किमी, पीरपैंती-जसीडीह 97 किमी, और रामपुरहाट-मंदारहिल बरास्ता दुमका 130 किमी, लाइन शामिल है. सदन के पटल पर रखे गए विवरण के अनुसार, टोरी तक विस्तार सहित रांची- लोहारदगा 113 किमी का आमान परिवर्तन किया जा रहा है. राज्य में रेल लाइनों के दोहरीकरण की परियोजनाओं में गढ़वा रोड-रेल ओवर रेल 10 किमी, गोमी डाउन गाड़ियों के लिए फ्लाई ओवर 15 किमी, बंडामुंडा-रांची 166 किमी, चक्रधरपुर-गोइलकेरा तीसरी लाइन 34 किमी, रांची रोड 25 किमी, धनबाद-सोननगर-पतरातु तीसरी लाइन 291 किमी, डोंगापोसी- खरसावां तीसरी लाइन 65 किमी, गढ़वा रोड-रमना 32.32 किमी, गोयलकेरा-मनोहरपुर तीसरी लाइन 40 किमी, जरंगडीह-दानी 29.2 किमी, खड़गपुर-आदित्यपुर तीसरी लाइन 30 किमी, खरसावां-चक्रधरपुर तीसरी लाइन 20 किमी, रमना-सिंगरौली 160 किमी, रांची रोड-पतरातु 31 किमी और सिनी-आदित्यपुर तीसरी लाइन 22.5 शामिल हैं.

Balasore: During the British Raj, when railway communication was making its humble beginnings across the country, Baikunthanath Dev, the son of a landlord, played a pivotal role in ushering in rail connectivity in the state.
Along with erstwhile Mayurbhanj king Ramchandra Dev, Baikunthanath made serious efforts in this direction.

appealed to the British government to lay rail network in Orissa. However, due to funds crunch, the Bengal-Nagpur railway authority found it an impossible proposition.
Baikunthanath then put forth a proposal that he would arrange funds for laying of railway line from Kharagpur to Balasore. The Bengal-Nagpur railway authority made it clear that `5 lakh will be required for the project.
Baikunthanath contributed `50,000 and collected `3 lakh from the Mayurbhanj King, `30,000 from a landlord Ganganarayan, `2,500 from Jagmohan Ray and raised the remaining amount from the public.
The railway authorities launched the project after `5 lakh was deposited with them. Baikunthanath’s dream came true February 8, 1892 when a two-engine train ran on the track on a trial basis.
From that humble beginning, the rail network has now expanded across the state. But it’s an irony that neighbouring Mayurbhanj district still lags behind other areas in terms of rail connectivity though King Ramchandra Dev had donated the maximum amount of funds for the first railway project of the state.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Gourishankar Ray, one of the makers of modern Orissa as well as the savior of Oriya language, Baikunthanath contributed immensely towards the Oriya language movement and creation of separate Orissa province.
By dint of his prudence, intelligence and jovial nature, Baikunthanath emerged as a popular leader in Orissa and the country. The eldest son of landlord Shymananda Dev, Baikunthanath was a friend of legendary poet Radhanath Ray during his school days.
From 1877 to 1891, Maharaja Baikunthanath was the honourary chairperson of the Balasore municipality and a lifetime member of the National Society, an outfit formed with 25 prominent senior citizens during that period. The society had built the Town Hall at Balasore.
Besides, Baikunthanath had worked as the vice-president of the British India Association from 1897 to 1900. With his efforts, several temples, schools, ponds, and hospitals were set up at Balasore, Soro and Remuna. During the visit of Queen Victoria to India, Baikunthanath was honoured with the title of Maharaja.
Moreover, he was the first Oriya to be nominated as a member of the Bengal Legislative Council from 1883 to 1886.
For unification of Oriya-speaking tracts, he along with Bichtrananda Das had submitted a memorandum to then viceroy at Cuttack in 1876.
In 1885, he along with Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Das and Palli Kabi Nanda Kishore Bal had put forth a memorandum to Sir Rovers Thompson at Cuttack for this purpose.
Baikunthanath along with Radhanath Ray managed to collect the signatures of over one lakh Oriya people December 15, 1902 and submitted a memorandum to Lord Curzon.
Then, a monthly Oriya magazine named Utkal Darpan was being printed from his
printing press from 1873 to 1874 to promote and propagate Oriya when the language was passing through a critical phase.
Baikunthanath had undertaken a lot of work in the field of land reformation from 1885 to 1900. He passed away in 1923. PNN

ফের চলন্ত ট্রেনে দুষ্কৃতী দাপট। এবার ভদ্রক হাওড়া ফাস্ট প্যাসেঞ্জারে বেপরোয়া লুঠপাট সশস্ত্র ডাকাতদলের। ভোরে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের বেলদার কাছে রিভলভার ভোজালি, বাঁশ রড নিয়ে কামরায় উঠে পড়ে সাত আটজন দুষ্কৃতীর একটি দল। এরপর কামরায় থাকা ব্যবসায়ীর ওপর চড়াও হয় তাঁরা। ব্যবসায়ী পরেশ পালের সঙ্গে থাকা লক্ষ লক্ষ টাকা নিয়ে চম্পট দেয় ডাকাতরা।
কামরা ছাড়ার আগে আক্রান্ত ব্যবসায়ীকে বাথরুমে বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হয় বলেও অভিযোগ। পরে নারায়ণগড় স্টেশনে তাঁকে জখম অবস্থায় উদ্ধার করে জিআরপি। ব্যবসায়ীর অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে তদন্ত শুরু করেছে পুলিস। তবে পরেশবাবু যে এত টাকা নিয়ে মহাজনকে দিতে যাচ্ছিলেন, সেই খবর আগে থেকেই ডাকাতদের কাছে ছিল কিনা, তদন্ত করে দেখছে পুলিস।

মনে করুন বাড়ি থেকে বেরোতে দেরি হয়ে গিয়েছে। এখনই স্টেশনে পৌঁছতে না পারলে ট্রেনটাই আর ধরতে পারবেন না। এমন সময় মনে পড়ল, যাঃ আবার টিকিটও তো কাটতে হবে, কিংবা মান্থলি শেষ হয়ে গিয়েছে। এমন পরিস্থিতিতে উপায় কী? হয় টিকিট কাটুন আর না হয় পরের ট্রেন ধরুন। আর লোকাল ট্রেনের টিকিট কাটা মানেই ঝামেলার একশেষ। প্রচুর লোকের পিছনে লম্বা লাইন। একগাদা সময় নষ্ট। এর পরেও আবার যদি টিকিটটি হারিয়ে ফেলেন, তাহলেই হল। টিটি এসে আপনাকে বেশ মোটা অঙ্কের একটা জরিমানা হাতে ধরিয়ে দেবেন। এবার এই সমস্ত সমস্যা থেকে মুক্তির সময় এসে গিয়েছে। এবার আর লাইন দিয়ে টিকিট কেটে তবে আপনাকে ট্রেনে ওঠার দরকার নেই। এবার অ্যাপের মাধ্যমেল লোকাল ট্রেনের টিকিট ইচ্ছামতো কাটুন আর বাতিল করুন।

যেত। এবার সেই একই সুবিধা পেতে চলেছেন লোকাল ট্রেনের ক্ষেত্রেও। শুধু মান্থলি নয়, ৫ টাকার টিকিটও কাটা যাবে রেলের নতুন অ্যাপ Unreserved Ticketing System বা ইউটিআই-এর মাধ্যমে। এই অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে টিকিট কাটলে আপনার ফোনে তত্‌ক্ষণাত্‌ একটি মেসেজ আসবে। তাই এবার আর টিকিট হারিয়ে গেলেও সমস্যায় পড়তে হবে না। টিটিকে মেসেজটি দেখিয়ে দিলেই পার পাওয়া যাবে।
কীভাবে অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে টিকিট কাটবেন দেখে নিন-
১) যে কোনও অ্যান্ড্রয়েড স্মার্টফোন থেকে Unreserved Ticketing System বা ইউটিআই-এর অ্যাপটি ডাউনলোড করুন।
২) অ্যাপটি গুগল প্লে-স্টোর থেকে ডাউনলোড ও ইনস্টল করতে পারবেন।
৩) এবার অ্যাপে আপনার নাম, মোবাইল নম্বর এবং আপনার শহরের নাম দিয়ে লগ-ইন করুন।
৪) এবার একটা অনলাইন ফর্ম ফিল-আপ করতে হবে। ফর্মে কোন স্টেশন থেকে যাত্রা শুরু করছেন, কোথায় যাবেন, এই সমস্ত বিবরণ দিলেই আপনি লোকাল এবং প্যাসেঞ্জার ট্রেনের অসংরক্ষিত টিকিট কাটতে পারবেন।
তবে টিকিট চেকারকে দেখে তখনই আবার টিকিট কাটতে যাবেন না। কারণ, এই অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে রেল ট্র্যাকের ২০০ মিটারের মধ্যে টিকিট কাটা যাবে না। তাই অসত্‌ পথ অবলম্বন না করে, রেলের নতুন সুবিধা উপভোগ করুন। তাহলে আর টিকিট হারিয়ে যাওয়া কিংবা লম্বা লাইনে দাঁড়ানোর মতো সমস্যায় পড়তে হবে না।
