stone for Electrification work of Jakhal-Dhuri-Ludhiana section, colour light signaling and token-less working o­n Ludhiana-Dhuri-Jakhal section & Light Iron over bridge at Level- Crossing no. C-62A at Dhuri Railway station. Sh. Mallikarjun Kharge also laid the foundation stone for Limited Height Subway in lieu of Level Crossing No. C-93 at Lehragaga ina function held at Lehragaga station. Alongside, he also inspected the Road-over-bridge in lieu of Level-crossing No. C-84 near Chhajli station . On this momentous occasion. the distinguished guests presents Shri Vijay Inder Singla Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, and Smt. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal ,Former CM, Punjab Govt. and Hon’ble MLA, Punjab. Sh. Kulbhusan, Member Electrical, Railway Board, Shri V.K.Gupta, General Manager, Northern Railway, Shri A.K.Kathpal, Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway, Ambala, Senior Railway officers, staff and citizens of Dhuri and Lehraga were also present.
The electrification work of Ludhiana-Jakhal has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs. 126.01 Crores in the Rail Budget 2013-14. The work has since been awarded to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited for execution. The other projects for which the foundation stone was laid o­n the occasion include colour light signaling & token-less working o­n Ludhiana-Dhuri-Jakhal sections and Light Iron over bridge in lieu of level crossing No. C-62A at Dhuri station. The project i.e. construction of Light Iron over bridge for two / three wheeler traffic at Level Crossing no. C-62A at Dhuri at the estimated cost of Rs. 2.97 crores. The construction of Light Iron Over-bridge at Dhuri is expected to mitigate the traffic problems of the residents of the Tehsils of Malerkotla and Dhuri - easing the flow of traffic passing through the level-crossing while ensuring safe movement of trains.
The construction of a Limited Height Subway at Level Crossing no. C-93 at Lehragaga at a cost of Rs. 4.96 crores is expected to ensure road user safety while ensuring greater operational benefit to the Railway. Sh. Kharge inspected Road Over Bridgein lieu of Level Crossing no. C-84 near Chhajli on the occasion. The work in the Railway portion has been completed the cost of Rs. 7.15 crores. In the approaches, the structural work has been completed and the finishing road work is in progress.
Northern Railway expects to bring in greater progress and public convenience through these comprehensive development projects.
While speaking o­n the occasion Hon’ble Minister for Railways stated that with the completion of all these projects the rail infrastructure will be strengthened in the state and the passengers will get upgraded conveniences. He announced to provide stoppage of 14035/14036 Dhauladhar Express at Lahragaga & Sangrur station, 19613/19614 Ajmer-Amritsar Express at Sangrur and 14037/14038 Delhi-Pathankot Express at Dhariwal Railway Station.

SANGRUR : The electrification work on 123-km-long ‘Jakhal-Lehragaga-Sunam-Sangrur-Dhuri-Malerkotla-Ludhiana’ railway section will begin soon. The project that is to cost Rs 126 crore will be completed in two years. Sangrur Member of Parliament (MP) Vijay Inder Singla said the foundation stone of the project would be laid on November 17. Besides, signaling system and token-less facility would also be installed at a cost of Rs 50 crore, he said.

SANGRUR : Member of Rajya Sabha Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on Friday inaugurated a road over bridge (ROB) over the railway level crossing in Churral Kalan village in Lehragaga. The ROB was built at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
