மதுரை: மதுரயைில் இன்று (ஏப்23) மாலையில் பலத்த காற்றுடன் கூடிய மழை பெய்தது. திருப்பரங்குன்றம் ரயில் நிலையப் பகுதியில் மரங்கள் முறிந்து தண்டவாளத்தில் விழுந்தன. இதனால் திருச்செந்தூரில் இருந்து பொள்ளாச்சிக்கு செல்லும் பயணிகள் ரயில் திருப்பரங்குன்றத்தில் நிறுத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டன. தண்டவாளத்தில் விழுந்த மரங்கள் அகற்றப்பட்ட பின்னர் ஒரு மணி நேர தாமதமாக ரயில் புறப்பட்டு சென்றது.

Don't think so. When railways made 13 coach train to 21 coach rake train in one budget announcement why is it not possible to make 24-26 within a year?
I am not proposing anything new. This was made announcement in budget. Railways would have done feasibility before announcing it in budget.
length of sidings+length of platforms is an issue.
Had the platforms/yard lines already been long enough to handle 30 coaches then increasing to 26 coach wouldn't be an issue, in that case only the production capacity of coaches would be a limiting factor, this isn't the case sadly and in many cases trains barely fit on Pf when 24 coach long.
there are certain PF's though which have heard have been extended, so the process may not take very long, but instantly it won't happen.
Even on important stations like LKO, out of 7 only 4 platforms are capable to accommodate a 24 coach ICF or 22 coach LHB and here are talking about 26 coach Rake. It will definitely need major infrastructural overhaul.
this is true for many major stations.
Increasing length of PF isn't just a simple matter of extending PF length, lot of work goes in making new turn outs, relaying the cables (interlocking) connected to signals on turn outs, changing position of signals itself etc. the whole process can be time consuming, especially if done in major cities with busy schedules.
