For Violet line, Jangpura or Lajpat nagar, both are nearly same distance from NZM. If some how your takes a unscheduled halt at Okhla, then alight here. The okhla metro station on violet line is very near to railway station.

Some trains originating from this station do not have pantry cars. Passengers now have the option of availing packed food from COMESUM. Both veg and non-veg food are available.

Hi Jay** ,
.
Sorry, but I beg to differ on your post
.
Well, whether it is a tip or not depends on the reader.
Not

all members are as experienced and knowledgeable and / or experienced about Indian Railways and the various Railway Stations.
.
If a Layman like me would check this info, it would surely remind me to buy packed food when I travel from NZM.
And yes, I do not know Comesum or any other stall/ restaurant at NZM for that matter. So again, this too is helpful to people like me!
.
Please do correct me if I am wrong, but I do strongly believe that experienced members (Especially Admins) should encourage new members posting Honest tips posted with the intention to help fellow IRI users and not snub the poor guys ;)
.
Regards,
Sij

Thank you @ India gets trashed by Saffers** for the link .
But as a Layman on IRI I had not found it earlier.
.
Yes, absolutely it is your point of view !

I do strongly believe it is important for everyone to voice their views and opinions (Y)
.
But it was again my view that TremorsMe has joined IRI only on Sep 22 2015.
In my view, it would have been much better if you (especially since you are an admin here) had encouraged him on taking efforts to share his tips with others.
If it was a repost and/ or repeat etc. as an Admin you could have guided him to actually search for the previous tip before posting etc.
That in my view would have been a more Welcoming gesture from an Admin to a new IRI member (Y)
.
Thanks again for the reply
.
Regards,
Sij

Mr Admin thanks for informing. By the way, I used NZM after more than a decade. At that time there was nothing much available to eat at NZM. COMESUM was not even heard of then. So this post was made to help fellow travellers like me.
Further, I would request admins to maintain a station wise list / FAQ of all the amenities available at all stations in India so that newcomers like me may look into this list first to avoid double entry before posting anything and thus save our time. BTW, I have not cared to check whether such a list already exists. If it does, its good.

This post says that passengers themselves have to go to Comesum for getting food but it never mentions that the people from COMESUM enter train bogies to sell packed food to passengers at their seats. Difference !!
