Ye mandir 12th century ke Chola kaal tak jaata hai aur ye bahut famous hai "Navaneetha Krishna" Sannidhi ke roop mein - bhagwan Krishna ke "crawling" form ke kuch hi mandiron mein se ek hai. Ye bhi maana jaata hai ki yehi jagah hai jahan Shri Purandara Dasa ne "Jagadhodhaaran Aadisidal Yashodha" gaaya tha - jahaan Yashoda ne duniya ki sahayata ke liye khelne wala tha.
