There was some news of it being extended till either PGT or Palani ( via Pollachi). Possibly that could be one reason. We will have to wait and see what is finally decided
Just for clarity. Is there any difference in fare structure for DD and UDAY? If yes, then ok. If not, call MAS SBC DD also as UDAY!!
There is no change in fare structure of Uday and DD both are AC chair category. Uday is just a name for DD and 2-3 coaches of Uday will have dinning deck with 104 seats instead of 120 seats. The exit level seats are not present. Have to check the charts of both trains for the number of seats in each coach after RSA.

what about the slowest VB ? plying between CBE n SBC ... how is it performing ? any sign of improvement ?
There are set of 8-10 VB which are not doing well. I haven't checked in past one month. Will check them tomorrow for Monday Run and most VB get max travellers.
MAS SBC DD arrives at 1310. Can leave SBC by 1400 to reach CBE at 2030.
Similarly CBE SBC DD arrives at 1230. Instead of waiting till 1430, it can leave SBC by 1330 to reach MAS by 1930.

Extension will mean just an additional 1 hr journey. Not sure if it will significantly change the occupancy as such
Few years ago both DD had RSA , it was withdrawn, now again RSA getting started, hope it doesn't affect SBC - MAS running time

There will be more demand for GS which is in WL from Coimbatore everyday. Extention will need another 2 GS Sitting coaches. In ACC occupancy may improve by another 50 seats.

Stoppages are CBE, TUP, ED, SA, Dharmapuri, Hosur, Karmelaram, BNC, SBC - with standing time at SBC for 1 hour before it starts its journey

Whichever extension happens, not sure if it will really benefit given the odd time of arrival & departure from these stations if at all it is extended.
If they are going to extend, timing will and should be changed and there is no need to worry about PM
They will make it in such a way it arrives CBE at 07:30 or 08:00 am and return wil reach at 21:00 to reach destination maybe at 23:00 or 23:30 pm

Cheran and TVM mail have RSA to avoid PM at Chennai for mail. At Coimbatore there is not much load during daytime except cheran and few night trains.
I guess anticipating the extension to PGT, suddenly some passenger associations have demanded extension to Palani. Now it purely depends upon SR HQ and SA and MDU division if at all they find it feasible. From new place connectivity point of view it will make for good publicity , but to really have some good patronage timing needs to change.
The current occupancy figures for MAQ-Madgaon VB and CBE-SBC VB dont seem to show good occupancy at all. I am sure railways might be monitoring this. Train I guess is virtually running empty

Timing need to change for sure. Also will be a great connectivity from Palani to Bangalore.
