Recently after seeing this rare model posessed by SWR, thought of going for a trip. Journey was nice but the downside was very very cramped seating and a lot of noise from the engine. Though max speed was limited to 40kmph or rather an alarm used to go off, the driver did exceed it for some time. Journey took half hour and got down in the deserted station of Kolar, which I feel needs more trains passing through it and the old kolar chikballapur route opened up.

In my case, the train left at 1625 itself, and when asked, the driver replied saying that he leaves as soon as the Bangalore City - Bangarpet Jn. Passenger train arrives. Most of the passengers coming in that train switch over to this one to continue their journey to Kolar.

Yes, this train was given a facelift recently, as around one year back, I had seen the same railbus, which had a dark blue and pale white combo. Then, when I had been there the last month, I saw this. Had the Pic from that time but as am new to this site, didn know about the blog.
