Because the previous day's 12238's rake is used for next day's departure of 12237 from Varanasi post PM. Since 12238 would have been delayed 18+ hours, it would have reached Varanasi on the morning of 12237's departure. The additional delay is just to accommodate for PM for the train.
It may be known as Begampura Passenger Train after stoppage at mukerian

It is still a high priority train.. Stops at shahjahanpur and mukerian should be removed.

Permission of additional stoppage of trains at Dhandari Kalan Railway Station.
In reference to the above, it is hereby intimated that due to the construction work is going on at LDH station PF no. 1, it is the requested for additional stoppage for Trains at Dhandari Kalan station to avoid overcrowding at Ludhiana station from 05.04.2024 to 05.06.2024.
