I'm on the Janmabhoomi express train from Tadepalligudem to Visakhapatnam. It's my first time in the GS sitting coach. The train left TPG at 1546 and was going at 116kmph at Navabpalem, 10km after TPGudem. It maintained a speed of 100-110kmph throughout the journey until Thadi, which is 26km away from Vskp for 217km. Usually, the train speeds up after Kovvur station, but this time it went from 60kmph to 80kmph on the Godavari Bridge and kept the same speed until the last coach left Godavari station platform, which was a big surprise for me. I don't remember any train doing that before. It even stopped at the station for signals. It took 14 minutes to halt at Kovvur to RJY Pf for 8km and reached at 1626. Halted for 5 minutes and stopped at SLO and reached Tuni by 1800. I could see many passengers coming from the last 3 GS coaches before the train started moving again. Left Anakapalle at 1855 and Duvvada at 1915, but as usual, it slowed down 5km before the station to get to the platform. Another surprise came after DVD, as the train maintained a speed of 90kmph throughout, even through the curves and bridges which have a 95kmph maximum speed until Jaggyapalem signal. It had to slow down to 30kmph and cross over to the Howarh line at Gopalpatnam. It halted at Kancharapalem gate, which is the VsKP trip Loco shed home signal, for 3 minutes and then stopped at PF 5 at 1949. It took a good 4 hours and 3 minutes to cover 243km, with an average speed of 60kmph. If it hadn't stopped in between, it would have reached by 1945, which is the right time. This is the best journey time by JB or any train towards Vskp in the past 3 years. I only remember once when my mother traveled and another time when I went to the railway station and reached by 1945. In August 2022, when I traveled, it took 5 hours and the train was moving very slowly from Duvvada to Vizag for an hour, covering only 18km. Janmabhoomi express is usually late by 15-30-60 minutes to Vskp and 30-60 minutes to Secunderabad every day. Thanks to SCR for maintaining superb punctuality and ECOR for accommodating the delay from AKP.
