Last Year's trip in August, the most powerful in terms of the trains I took, all RF.(12723-12049-12002-12650)

The Plan started in summers when Railfans from Mumbai and I planned to take a ride in newly introduced Gatimaan express, the only problem being that
I couldn't join with them from Mumbai as i had limited vacations at my disposal, so i planned a speedy one, starting with Telangana express on Day 1 Gatimaan Express on day 2, Bhopal Shatabdi and KSK on day 3, visiting Taj and taking some souvenirs for friends as well and an RF session at High speed section of Agra and Mathura, so booked the tickets and took rf permissions for Runkuta, a great and calm High speed location just after BFP.
So after all the beginning lets come to the trip part, took an early bus to Secunderabad to find that Railfan and well known IRIan and brother Abhishek travelling to Delhi in the same train :) so had a call with him and found that he got confirmation on charting in 3AC lower, known for being lucky in terms of train accomodation :p. I was quite lucky to have a company on this lone part of my trip.
There was a lot of crowd and usual hustle bustle at the station before the arrival, the best part that i heard about Telangana was its Pantry and there was no surprise the platform had fragrance of cooked food from Secunderabad Base Kitchen for it, they waited for train at the board where it was being displayed "PC", i searched for B2 and waited there as LGD's 30289 arrived with 12723 Telangana express with announcements in all 3 languages being carried out for the same, finally i met AJ on the door of coach we met and had a short chat when WAP-7 tooted, I went to my coach to get my tickets checked, and to try the breakfast, the train departed 15 minutes behind schedule from Secunderabad and crawled all the way upto CHZ owing to cautions, after a delicious plate of Masala Wada and Upma(combined), got the tickets checked i saw my train tearing Ghatkesar before going to another series of Permanent cautions till Aler and then went to AJ's coach through vestibule. The train was sparsely crowded, reached his coach,we had a long chat and in no time we saw ourselves in Kazipet 3 minutes behind schedule, departed ontime after a minute halt. At Kazipet outer both of us held the door and saw ourselves parallely departing with Krishna express that curved towards Warangal as we did towards Ballarshah, after crossing the lake we did saw the lake and came inside the coach, occasionally till RDM we were having a speedy run and came thrice at door, went to check my seat to find no one there. Ordered food near SKZR and got the food at Ballarshah finding ourselves reaching 15 minutes ahead of schedule, the monsoon was at its peak and the scenary outside was beautiful, the usually hot BPQ had cool breeze blowing, we departed just ahead of 22691 arrival.
Had our food while having an extra halt at Chandrapur, thought we would be overtaken here but we departed after a 10 minute halt. After Chandrapur, the WAP-7 mercilessly ripped till HGT where we halted after passing a long caution, we got overtaken by SBC raj and after a halt of 15 minutes we departed for another speedy run, the run in CR was exceptional and violent at the same time owing to jumpy PWAY. We both came to door witnessing the huge 90 degree sewagram curve, skipping that we had a speedy run till Nagpur and arrived 2 minutes ahead of schedule, we both had a glass of orange juice and departed on time after a massive jolt by Nagpur crew towards Itarsi, i fell asleep for this part...

The next part is here, sorry for the long wait.
So after bidding a final bye to my friends, went to Platform Number 1 of NDLS to do a railfan inspection of 12002 New Delhi Habibganj Bhopal Shatabdi express, the train in which i longed to travel since years, mine was a 99 made LHB coach, an imported one. Got to my seat Center Table-Window-Non track side-Forward, And we got starter and departure both on time, this time Lucknow Shatabdi was nowhere to be seen.
before Nizamuddin when train was at 100 i saw fire outside the window from just behind my seat and the train came to a screeching halt, due to vigilance of C&W staff onboard and guard, the Fire extinguishers were arranged and fire was put out, reason being a brake jam, the shoe was released and Train started after a 20 minute halt, crossed Nizamuddin at barely 50kmph and after okhla WAP5 suddenly was charged up, after asaoti we started hitting 150 but as soon as we were to cross Rundhi, the train halted, we started again this time although there was no halt before Mathura and we had maddening 150 speed show, WAP-5 had put on the relentless 150 show after Mathura too and we actually covered 5 minutes, by this time we had overtaken 3 trains and 5 freights, After Agra the start was aggressive but soon at Hetampur we were halted due to low clearance and retained the same delay till Gwalior.
After Gwalior the route got exotic, bit of ghat section and Datia Hills, double S Curves and Jhansi fort, the section where we ran like beast and covered 5 minutes with delay down to 15 minutes. From Jhansi i thought the train started running in SCR as we did 2 Loop overtakes, but the speed show was good, delay again increased, and when we crossed Bina from loop we were 30 minutes late, but crisp clearance in WCR ensured that we were 22 minutes late at Bhopal. Met Abhishek here, did some RF and waited for KSK.
Never expected the crowd for KSK at Bhopal to be that much..

I do not expect major changes in SCR trains or within SCR... But if happens.. it will be good... AP exp got speeded up by 15 mins last year.. but it will be trolled within SCR everyday..

Delayed by 2 hours 16 minutes at Ramagundam
and still arrived just 40 minutes late at New Delhi

A distance of 1441 kms did in 21 hours 20 minutes from Ramagundam to New Delhi ... Average Speed 68 KMPH

1. Hyderabad - kaghaznagar Intercity Express
2. Jabalpur - Habibganj intercity
3. Mumbai LTT - Bareily Express
4. Okha - Gorakhpur Express
5. Itarsi - Jhansi Passenger
6. Indore - Dehradun Express
7. Agra - New Delhi Intercity Express
and few more MEMU and passenger trains in the route

You have 4 zones in between to agree the speedup...its not so easy ..may be possible but not easy...
More over I don't NDLS is in a position to take it anytime earlier than the present time on daily basis ..

It has a dedicated platform at NDLS naa... atleast 30 mins speed up easily possible...

in NDLS yes dedicated platform -but that's not enough right....first the Rajadhani overtake should be scheduled after Bhopal to make it arrive early at NDLS ...for that CR and WCR has to agree... CR may not be having problem with WCR may have...because Shen-E-Bhopal of WCR runs just ahead of AP till NZM with a gap of 30min ...it has to agree to allow AP to run ahead of it and also plan a Raj OT before Jhansi ...
and not just Shan-e but also it has to cross ET before Pushpak enters the line ....and this gets intensified to make sure AP crossed MTJ before Mumbai Rajadhani... you know why AP got halt at Balbagh right ....its a scheduled overtake place
for BCT Raj ...now it got speeded up but stop remained for AP ...
I guess it won't be that easy to make it happen ... and more over SCR has to maintain its schedule and handover AP to CR at BPQ by at least 15-20min early and then CR has to agree to cut down the slack and make it faster by atleast 30-45min and WCR should be ready to take it early and make it to depart at BPL before Shan-e-Bhopal ...
