There iis an news article written on Uday express in today Eenadu local Visakhapatnam page about it's repeated cancellation. They have mentioned the train is cancelled for 140 days but in reality atleast 280+ days mean 10 months in last 14 months starting from June 16th 2023 in the name of safety works and 3rd line works at Vijayawada from Gundala to VJA Bypass cabin. They are comments from public that it's being cancelled to increase occupancy of Vande Bharat in which ticket costs Rs 960 , without breakfast Rs 820 as against rs 540 in AC chair car in Uday express. along with other trains in Vskp Vja secton which is preferred by common middle class people.

Uday on any day from Visakhapatnam gets min of 400-600 occupancy total capacity 800 seats of which 100-150 get in from Duvvada, Anakapalle and Tuni while 100 getdown at TP gudem and Eluru,300-400 ate direct Vskp VJA passengers. In return direction the trai gets more occupancy as they are no trains in afternoon after Janmabhomi at 1330 Uday leaving at 1715 gets 650-800 travellers.

I think it would be better to run Uday in reverse , morning departure from GNT as there are JB and Simhadri intercities towards BZA and GNT. That will reduce pressure on Ratnachal. Rake cab be maintained at GNT as pit lines in GNT not fully utilized. This will also helo VSKP CDO, that VSKP CDO can accommodate for any other train.

Uday is required from Visakhapatnam in the morning even addition of 5GS coaches. Janmabhoomi and Simhadri are also running today yet all three had good occupancy. For Saturday Uday already 500 seats booked. On any anyday Janmabhoomi will be full from Visakhapatnam and from Anakapalle all coaches gangway is filledup until Rajahmundry. In reverse evening Uday is required as there is no train after Janmabhoomi from Vijayawada and its more sucessfull with near to full occupancy on any day at 1730. Vijaywada Visakhapatnam section requires one more intercity train to compensate Ratnachal in morning as link express 4 coaches used to take care of VJA to Tuni is cancelled in morning same Visakhapatnam requires one more intercity before Visakha express. New train from VJA/ GNT can run via BVRM or Uday with addition of GS can be diverted via BVRM. Apart from day train one more night train required from...

In my opinion railways should make future train sets with this coach composition 6 general class coaches including luggage loading capacity , 6 sleeper coaches , 8 ac class coaches ( which can include third ac or second ac or first ac or can be a mixture of these coaches ) and ( either 1 ac coach or 2 ac coaches can be removed to add pantry car coach and extra luggage coach ) so 6+6+8 total 20 and 2 electric locos ( 1 at front side of whole trainset and 1 at back side of the whole trainset ) so 20 +2 total 22 coaches , so that instead of giving lhb rakes to some trains which runs on a longer path railways should directly convert those mail or express or superfast express trains into these trains sets and cost of making lhb coaches will also be reduced or...

saved due to directly conversion of mail or express train into train sets and rake reversal time of many trains will be reduced cost of doing rake reversal of a train will also be reduced ( due to 2 engine 1 at back side of the trainset and 1 and front side of the train set ) and speed of all trains can be increased (due to 2 engine 1 at back side of the trainset and 1 and front side of the train set ) . Or either railways can apply this coach composition in in some upcoming amrit bharat express trains so that we can get see that whether this coach composition for train sets will become a successful idea or will become waste idea.

SCR released another PR indicating restoring previously cancelled trains Simhadri, MTM exp, Uday and TPTY DD along with Memus. But Ratnachal and Rayagada are missing in the list.

Visakhapatnam Guntur Uday express resumed it's run from today and has excellent occupancy both sides even after cancellation of 4 weeks. April month had lot of marriage muhurtas and all trains to Hyd and Vijayawada are in demand and Uday cancellation of this month is a bad decision. Good part is Simhadri ran and saw a vlog where all seats filled up at Tuni and good turnout in Duvvada, AKP, Elamanchili. Today from VSKP to VJA VB, Uday, Janmabhoomi are full. From tomorrow there may be slight drop in occupancy for about 10days except weekend for VB and Uday as Moodam ( no marriage muhurtas) started and rush will come back from next thrusday due to election date and summer holidays till June 15th.
