I know the tracks around HW have speed restrictions [mps of 50kph, is it?]. But that doesn't mean you run a bullock cart on that section. This 'express' train takes 2+ hours for 27 km at an average of hold your breath, 12 kph. In comparasion, the slowest BG train is DC passenger[Dhanbad Chandrapura] which does ~13 kph due to underground mine fires around that area.
Also, 8 hours 45 minutes for MB-LKO? That time is enough to do NDLS-LKO.

The DC passenger train runs for 33 km and has end slack of 40-50 minutes. Other than that train reaches every station 2-3 minutes before and 10 minutes before at KTH. If these slacks are removed, 1 hr 40 minutes e enough.
That is too much slack given to Dhanbad - Chadraoura Passenger, otherwise Shatabdi covers Dhanbad Chandrapura section in 48-49 minutes
What is the mps in that section eitherways?One other longish passenger that comes to mind which is terribly slow is Kanpur - Sitapur passenger both because the tracks suck [ I didn't see it going above 50 kph in a small stretch last I traveled] and it stops for 3 hours at Balamau enroute for no reason.
