the sleeper class of udyan express is horrible. the seat cushion have come out. please do not book in 2nd class of udyan...the journey becomes incomfortable..

My coach was A3 - fitted with a new 'Bio' toilet (no dumping on tracks). I noticed the mfg. date as September 2013 and sure enough the upholstery and fittings were in good condition. A1 and A2 however were older coaches with the 'traditional' toilets. Temperature control was excellent and bedding was also OK though some pillows had split seams with foam jutting out.

There is no pantry car in this train. You will get good packed food at B'lore station. For lunch, the arrangement is you have to order in the morning & you will get good/reasonably priced food at Kurduwadi

Although Udyan Exp departs Bangalore at 2000 hrs, catering services do come around asking for dinner. The choice is very limited - veg, egg or chicken biryani in a single aluminum casserole w/plastic spoon inside. Curds are also sold separately. The exact same choice is available for lunch the next day. For breakfast idli / bread omlet was available.
It makes much more sense to pack something from outside for dinner on Day 1.
