Minnu~ 1393 blog postsreally an excellent train for RF/General travel,as it passes through palghat nd runs MPS most of the time post joining SRR-CBE line till salem,from salem till darmapuri(be on right side) doorplating would be my best suggestion as it climbs over deccan plateau which offers great views :) overall the crowd was decent,nd most of them get in from aluva and get down at CBE,from there second set of crowd joins till SBC
99% of the crowd gets down at BNC there are hardly passengers who will get down at SBC
Its priority is downward sloping.
In Kerala it gets max priority, then somewhat high priority after PGT till SA, and then low priority in SWR. Usually trolled at BYPL outer.

Shatabdi Express~ 764 blog postsFor passengers planning to travel from cbe to sbc (especially in CC class): If the status is showing waiting list,then book from tcr and boarding point can be changed online. Tcr falls under gn quota,so higher chances of availability.
The price difference is too much compared to booking from CBE so if available book from CBE if WL from TCR
Of course, but from what I've seen, cbe just has a handful of seats under its quota (PGT even worse), but TCR has plenty of seats, hence the tip. I still feel, paying those extra bucks is better than travelling by bus...
But my PNR(2S) had waitlist about GNWL 110 thought will never confirm.As I was going to get ready to go by bus but got an SMS from IRCTC that my ticket has been confirmed.
Was it from TCR to SBC or CBE to SBC? And yes, with GNWL, such confirmations do happen.
Yeah maybe. Was 12678 punctual then? Now-a-days, It rarely comes on-time. Usually arrives SBC with a 30-min delay on an average.
No at SA i guess it had arrived 30mins. late but arrived sbc with 10-15 mins. delay
how is the punctuality of train at sbc/bnc. Will this be a safe bet for catching 12649 , (trip scheduled in December)
i would suggest not to book.looking at NTES this train over the past week had an average delay of 1.5 to 2.5 hours.And even if you manage to reach half an hour before departure may I remind you have to travel almost 40 mins from SBC/BNC to reach YPR.
Nope, I would not recommend this.. even 11014 is very unpredictable.. my suggestions are :
1) If Kongu express is possible, do take it, it's slower than KSK, but hassle-free
2) You coud take 22666 Uday (the only punctual non-overnight train between CBE and SBC), spend 8-9 hours at SBC and then take KSK.

Thanks. Finally changed the route. Now would be going to Mysore from Ooty by road and would be catching 12008 up to SBC.
kongu problem is no pantry car so lot of problem for food and highly inconvenient as it is a long journey and BTW Uday is not punctual it reached at 1:30PM when i was travelling 40 mins. late
I totally forgot to mention Kerala, it's LHB too, but anyway the blogger has chosen a good route itself
Update to this tip: Doesn't work.
I booked from PGT to SBC, and the WL was extremely high so I tried TCR but it was the same.

Shatabdi Express~ 764 blog postsTravellers of 12678 opting for connections (especially at SBC end), do note that this train on an average arrives atleast 1 hr to 1:30 hrs after Scheduled arrival (that is, around 9 PM or later). Therefore, trains like 16589 and Rajasthan bound weeklies are not recommended as connections.. even 12649 will be a tight connection.. only on Sundays it reaches SBC with minimal delay.
This train has one of the worst punctuality record over the last 2 years.. Travelled various times and the earliest arrival has been 8:20 PM.. known to arrive after 10 PM also to SBC.. hence travellers with connection plan accordingly.. The pairing train 12677 has a far better punctuality record though..

varghese_78 28 blog postsFastest connectivity to bangalore.Good enough pantry.Current reservation / onsite reservation available by contacting TTE most of the time.After Tcr most of this gets exhausted.CBE has a quota.Sundays are the peak days for the train both ways.WL very difficult to clear.Though train runs late reaches ahead of time most of the time at BANGALORE.
