This train reaches Cantonment daily after 30 mins delay. Why not the authorities revise the timing.
This train is still regarded as 'Thanjavur express' at SBC, when the Automatic announcement fails the people who announce the name of the trains refers this train as Thanjavur express and even LCD TV systems displays this train's name as Thanjavur express , So passengers bound to places beyond Thanjavur junction need not worry and get confused , this train very well goes to MV.
When this train was extended to Mayiladuthurai in 2007-08, the announcer at BNC used to falter the name- and generally announced as 16232 Express going via Trichy, Thanjavur and Kumbakonam
never reaches on time at intermediate destinations. thanjavur schedule arrival is 4:45, but arrives only after 5:15 am, why not railways change the timings?????worst compartments infested with rats and no proper lightnings in toilets and with open window pane on toilet doors, horrible experience, hope railways wake up and improve this train which runs full almost throughout the year.....

you can check on this site itself about the arrival time of this train at sbc and bnce and also at trichy and thanjavur, never on time, earlier i used to travel on this train and it was awesome, we traveled on 05/11/2014 and it was a nightmarish experience seeing rats, stinking toilets, etc....
This train will be very neat sir , may be on that particular day it might have not been. SWR takes care of this train . So it ll be clean for sure.
May be tuticorin-mys arrived late hence less maintenance time of rake at mysuru bcs it has RSA with this train.
timings does not matter. some times goes on time too. but, cleanliness is worst. yesterday i travelled in this train from sbc to tj. i saw two rodents running in b1 coach. they should maintain the rakes properly.
No service available and passengers are to buy their catering needs including drinking water before boarding this train.
I have travelled in this train from SBC to ED. The SL coach was neat and without a single dangerous insect (except few mosquitoes). I have kepy 2 bags full of packed (not open) snacks item under the lower berth after confirming the cleanliness. After coming to home and when taking out the snacks, I have shocked that there is not even a single insect inside any snacks !!!. Really. I didn't remember which coach. It has arrived Erode on time because there is no crossing between DPJ and SA (except on Monday, Thursday and Friday where it has crossing only with the train 11022). The train 16236 has crossings with the trains 16231, 16235, 16528 (if 16236 does not arrive SA on time) and the train 11013 has crossings with 16231, 16235 and 16528 between DPJ and SA.
