Train runs on time. Very good for railfanning. Coaches are well maintained. Travelled many times onboard this train in sleeper class.

This train runs for almost 27-28 hours from origin to destination having 24 coaches and twin Deisel engines to haul but does not have a pantry car. It appears very strange to me. I travelled by this pair of services in both ways many times. It remains fully crowded and always a huge waiting remains on this sector except July Aug.
Unfortunately despite the huhe need pantry is not being considered. On board housekeeping services are there but the staff remains sleeping and I did not find them working unless one goes and catches them to attend to cleanliness.

Same with another train that 17615 from KCG to MDU running for 25 hours and no pantry car. What could be logic?

If travelling from anywhere in karnataka like from chittapur or gulbarga or solapur , then book from "Begumpet" itself and put boarding point as your respective stations, this will provide you confirmed berths easily and if any WL then confirmation chances will be more by this process
