Absolutely no catering including tea/coffee or loose snacks during the 8hr+ journey. And very little hope of finding decent food during its 10 min stoppage at SMET(provided you wait till 10pm) . So pls fill up your tanks before boarding this train.
But what about people who board this train at 8? There is absolutely nothing,not even water between TLGP and SMET.
I travelled by this train on 13th of this month from sagar to Bengaluru. I saw a guy in the compartment S6 selling Palav, Lemon Rice and water bottle. He had a very little stock of the eatable.
Train thoroughly cleaned around 7 pm at Talguppa and and maintains good standards of cleanliness in this short overnight journey.
No catering including tea/coffee or Water Bottles, loose snacks during the 8hr+ journey. And very little hope of finding decent food during its 10 min stoppage at SMET . In Shimoga town station we cannot get down from train their is a huge number of passengers. Not Possible to get anything. Old age people get suffering. Please provide catering, its really passengers need.
Vendors can't roam in coach with food bcs it's difficult for them to get in and out of the coach, due to rush. No trains available at night for vendors to reach their home at night if they travel till shimoga from talguppa then they shld wait till morning at shimoga for talguppa train and if they are from shimoga then it'll be late night so people won't prefer food at that time and not ready to lose their sleep it makes vendors to throw their food without buyers, if they sell at shimoga station means no time to buy bcs train halts for jus 10-15mins more over no one is ready to buy bcs getting in to coach itself is a big problem, so better to have ur stomachs filled before getting into train. Coffee tea are available at arasikere u can have there.
Usually Crossing Happens In Anndapur, In Anadapura Railway station, Railway department can open a stall or any small shop like tea/coffee or Water Bottles, loose snacks should available.
Is it still such a superhit with odd arrival timings at sbc !!?
Why is the official name in railways as "Anandapuram" ?? adding "am" at the end isn't our culture... do the locals there pronounce it such? If not then it needs to be offended to bring back its original name
No other choice for people bcs it's only train available for them to reach bangalore at morning or else they should rely on bus.
my home town is near anandapuram. no one pronounces as anandapurAM. they say anandpura, some even say ananthpura
i personnelly talked with the in duty SM in both sagar jambagaru and anandapuram. they once called for tender for small shop providing what all you mentioned. but no one came forward. and more over only SBC bound train gets rush in these stations. Passenger trains are always empty and even MYS bound ICE also no patronage in lean period. so it will be a loss for vendors
Then why are the people of that region ( including urself ) quite on this issue? Adding "am" is not our culture , then how come the railways did such a thing.... Please try to critisize it and bring down such a name as soon as possible

Even during peak period there is not much patronage for MYS ICE.
Earlier, in the MG era, there existed a tea stall at Anandapuram Railway station which was famous for its Uddina Vada and Idly. There used to be huge rush in front of the stall to buy these eatables. The same can be reintroduced now as this help long distance passengers of TLGP SBC.
Rarely does this train touch YPR before 4 am(usually around ~0415 ). So pls dont disturb your sleep and well as that of your co passengers by keeping an alarm at 3.30 am. :)
