Aside from the KIR-FBG- Lalitgram- DBG- GKP route, another major entire NFR route is rapidly approaching completion.
Katihar-Purnea-Araria-Thakurganj-Siliguri route should become operational in the next few months.
This new route will provide an alternate to the super congested KIR-BOE-KNE-NJP section.. I am hoping that Gangtok Rajdhani would take this route from Rangpo - Siliguri- Bagdogra- Thakurganj- Araria- Purnea - Katihar...

That route will be like this SGUJ-GALGALIA-ARARIA-FBG-LLP-SRGR-SKI-DBG-To the main line.... That route train will not touch either purnea nor katihar... And it will mostly get benifical for goods train from NFR and army movement
BTW, good to see that 12523 reached at GZB almost on time today..
That route will be connecting ARARIA towards FBG and ARARIA COURT towards katihar so in both direction trains will come for sure and if rajdhani or some other sfs will be diverted or introduced on this route will mostly be following the route towards ARARIA COURT , PURNEA, KATIHAR covering two major passenger providing stations. Freight movements will likely be higher on straight route going towards FBG dbg bypass.

Obviously it's not for end to end passengers. It's route is to facilitate the pax from the high demand region. Moreover that's the reason it's a SPL only meant to fulfill the demand of passengers.

It's a serious issue. Railway officials should investigate it properly and see that such things don't happen in the future.
This is in between Dabolim to Vasco many houses are on the hill which will need to be cut to lay the second line.
Well the news says it belonged to railways only because railways always procures more than what they need for future scenarios. So maybe some of the houses were made illegally and some will be given compensation. Also the house was already evacuated no loss of life that is great thing but work should be done properly and thoroughly as this is residential area extra precautions should be taken and advanced machinery should be used to detect all the big rocks or boulders so that they can excavate it properly.
