more... Saturday 12th Apr 2014 when loco pilot of goods train carrying new railway tracks ahead of Ajanta exp detected that crack is developed on the track on which Mumbai bound NANDIGRAM exp just passed few minutes back. Pilot immediately informed the incident to AWB. Ajanja exp was detained at Potul stn. where as Devgiri Exp was detained at AWB station. Relief teams were immediately sent and repair was done within an 1.5 hrs. But this caused huge headache to passengers.
Both SAKAL and Maharashtra Times wrote in news that since gauge conversion in 1992 this track is improperly maintained. Section engineer is not inspecting the track regularly. In addition to that stengtehing of AWB-MMR section is not yet completed but the number of trains on this section is increased upto 54. While single track capacity is only for about 40 trains. This causing huge load on single track. There is urgent need of doubling of this section as demand of trains is going to increase on this section. Following are the highlights of news in both the papers.
1. Urgent need of strengthening and doubling.
2. Remaining work of strengthening on MUE-MMR must be completed on fast track.
3. Section engineer must inspect the track atleast twice a week.
4. Local trains are always delayed sidelined for the sake of Andhra bound trains. The scheduling must be done judiciously.
5. Rly. Minister Millikarjun Kharge diverted the fund meant for BEED-PARALI new line to Gulbarga and no politician from Marathwad raised voice against it. Local politicians must create pressure group for railway works in Marathwada.
