I think it takes a long route the present one via Kurnool Town taken by slip is best for KCG VSG some of our members did feel that KCG VSG was a sure shot train but didn't materialise in interim budget have to see what the final one gives.
yes..SWR does not operate any daily train from Vascodagama to Bangalore.Even though Karnataka state financially 20 % participate in Kongan Railway no train operated by KRCL from Mumbai/Ahmadabad via Madgoan to the interior Karnataka such as Hubli ,Bellary and Bangalore.
Similarly no Mumbai train via Kongan and Mangalore operated to the interior Karnataka Mysore and Bangalore.
But the Kerala state participate with 5 % and control 90 % of the Kongan train to the Kerala state.

Some expresses from Bangalore may be diverted from Hubli via Madgoan and Kongan Route to Mumbai /Ahmadabad and beyond.
The benefits of KR has gone to Kerala most and also Mumbai(CR). Even in Goa only few places are benefited places like VSG, SVM, QLM which had great importance in MG area are not even looked upon by KR.
Karnataka only places like Karwar, Mangalore have got benefits Hubli can run a train to Mangalore and Mumbai via KR.
A major terminal like VSG in MG era became a victim of neglection of SWR and greed of KR in retaining all trains to MAO.

agree, KR is serving only Kerala. First track SBC-MAQ via Sakaleshpur must be strengthened. Then the new trains towards Mumbai and Gujarat should run via MAQ and KR. This will give much needed connectivity of SBC and MAQ.
