Yeah, doesn't sound bad. tat's why EMD project came to IR after 50 years.
And the many other projects came out slowly in IR when the world was busy testing the next generation locos.

Well, the EMD or the WDG/P 4 we are having , are already phased out in US long time back. Its their old technology.
ALCO is phased out, but EMD continues.

An you see, the electrification of the NDLS-ASR route was done way back in 1999-2000, and we being very close to the main line, I mean Rajpura Jn. and we being on an important route called RBR (Rajpura-Bathinda Route) as is mentioned by IR itself in their documents, still looking for any upgradation for the past so so many yrs. In 2002, CORE had sent a proposal to electrify RBR, but Board refused it by saying, let the Zonal Division send the requests. There is a lot of RED TAPISM in IR and until IR doesn't agree on this that the branch lines or now what they call as FEEDER ROUTES, NEED to be strengthen because now they feel (After Japan Rail Corporation woke them up ) that IR is wasting a lot of potential revenue by ignoring or not upgrading the branch lines, which can be used to transport heavy...
