In the down, run, it either gets a WAM, WAP-1 or even a WAG, so link doesn't bother much as it has less halts.

No issues, to haul a 25 coach train by a WDM-3A unless there is a steep ghat ahead where it'll struggle a bit n sanding needs to b started.
Yeah i meant to say now most long rakes are given Twin alcos or a EMD now very few 24 coachers are seen with a single WDM3A.
