This train runs as normal express between Delhi and Kalka and as Superfast between Delhi and Howrah. Average speed between Delhi and Howrah is more than 55 KMPH.

the train was very much a superfast earlier, many stops were introduced in recent years and also the speed was restricted after the mishap in 2011
