BMTC sighted the loss as reason for increasing fares due to Diesel rate and also payment of DA to it's employees. The same reasons were quoted when fares were hiked when BMTC was making profits.The corporation does not have a realistic analysis to increase fares. Bangalore people are a harassed lot both by BMTC and AUTO. Both resort to frequent hike in fares.
