How do Indian railways expect maximum Bookings for premium trains with booking only through internet? Irctc is down or too slow for almost round the clock.
Why IR feel that the last minute passengers will prefer only internet to book? Is there any specific reason for that?

from the counters at least ..anyways I am completely against the idea of premium trains..if IR can run so premium trains they can and should run as many normal specials also and between the same set of station..money minting move nothing more ..
since premium trains are not either regular or special trains operated by IR it's not meant for general travelers, they are hired rakes completely planned and operated by IRCTC, hence the main motto is maximum profit, hopefully in future you will see private players also coming into ... so we can't blame IR for these being unfriendly to common passengers
IRCTC is running it ..but they cant run any train without the nod from IR ..it has to go through the same approval channel from RB..
I agree with your screen name, even if some of our members support premiums.
Why should we pay premium in the first place ?
Isn't the fair hike enough to fill their bellies ?
Why don't they collect proper fines from people violating rules in trains and stations ? That would be a good revenue to them, IR should become a lil bit...

premium trains are fully hired by IRCTC, the IR or railway board does not comes into scene on deciding fares on these trains, since IRCTC has made upfront payment to IR for the rakes, the fare is decided by IRCTC, and like any business house there is nothing wrong in them expecting a profit in return of their investment... as for nod, they have leased those rakes from IR, so no further approval is required
