i have realised that one unnecessary red signal/chain pulling/halt can increase journey time by 8-10 mins
suppose if a train can trael non stop from a to b 45 km in 30 mins
then one red signal will inc journey duration to 38-40 mins because train first needs to slow down then stop then start again and speed up..... this all waste 3-4 min in each slow down.
