Good news for...... HWH-CHENNAI sector , there is new line getting lied between SCMN-DVD, so that train can easily bypass VSKP. This year 10 crs alloted in pink book. So we can save 1 hr by bypassing VSKP. I hope all trains running via VSKP also should divert via DVD.

I remember the year 1977 very well. However I crosschecked in Wikipedia before posting.
Even i heared godavari express also used to take just 5 hrs from VSKP-BZA. Now its 6 hrs. IR achieved Very good development in Hwh-mas sector :p
santragachi is used by a.c for unloading linens & also as subarban point 7 kms before howrah where from train take 25 mints for howrah and in this people of south kolkata reach their home or office in 20 minutes by new hoogly bridge thus all south trains & mimbai trains except jan satabdi / duranto / janneswari trains stop at santragachi only when arriving for howrah ++
still it can be 24 hrs - since in 1977-80 or till 5 years back kharagpur to beharampur in orissa was no electric + portion between jajpur road & bhubneswar was single line + mahanadi had single bridge at cuttack but now electric + full double line thus i r shd plan make is faster i.e. 24 hrs journey ++ even howrah chennai mail if possible realign timing so that 2nd nght cud be avoided since now this takes 30 hrs no need for 2nd nght ++
Yes yar...as per bloggers hwh-ypr duranto, from BZA to HWH it takes 17:30 to 18 hrs. From bza-mas 6 hrs, so with stops 25 hrs is easily achieved
