Considering that a vast amount of travel between Kolkata-Kerala sectors is also patronised by migrant workers, it would have been better if counter reservation was also allowed. Many of them may not be aware of online reservations. This would only encourage agents to charge a premium apart from the extra premium which the customer is anyways paying.

Booking with dynamic fare cannot be done at PRS. This is the reason why premium Tatkal and premium train are only on IRCTC.
That is known that booking for Premium trains/Premium Tatkal cannot be done @ PRS,try to understand blogger's opinion would have been better if option is avbl @ PRS.It isn't that he doesn't know the booking cannot be done @ PRS.
you think railway wouldn't have thought about it ? If we people sitting in our home can think about it then railway for sure would have had a think about it
But there would be inherent problems hence not done
.
One problem which anyone can clearly think is that booking clerk having to fetch dynamic price every time.

All things shall be given a thought..It isn't that the booking clerk says its Rs.500/- but by the time some else books and final price shoots to Rs.550/- in the end of booking the clerk shall not be at blame but its the system, the passenger has to ready for such...Even now many stand in line enquire and don't want book in WL just cancel the thought of booking..Can't think its a waste of time but just to cancel out the touts to play spoil sport they would want the booking to be online.
I agree to your point on logistical isssues for railways but also i feel they need to probably also gauge as to what is the profile of the majority of passengers travelling on a route. In this east/north east -south sectors if you travel, with the exception of vacation season, you would mostly find migrant workers travelling who i dont think would be familiar with internet. Last year there was an instance when railways had to withdraw a special service between ernakulam-guwahati due to lack of patronisation. The notification of such service was given in english and people were hardly aware of the same.
