2004 New Suburban Station Seawoods-Dharavi between Nerul and Belapur on the Harbour Line was opened for Suburban
on 12.06.2004, by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde.
2004 A new Suburban Corridor between Vashi and Thane Stations was inaugurated on 09.11.2004 by the Hon’ble Railway

2004 Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) for the use of Platform Ticket installed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Station.

2004 ISO 9001: 2000 awarded to Passenger Reservation System at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. This is the first and the only

2008 New age EMU Rake (with state-of-art-technology) was flagged off by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri
Vilasrao Deshmukh and put into service on 21.02.2008.
2008 New ticketing System based on GPS technology and contactless Smart Card named “GO MUMBAI CARD” launched over
Suburban Section on 24.04.2008.
2008 First X-Ray Baggage Scanner has been installed at CST Station in the month of April, 2008.
2008 Mansarovar station on Harbour line commissioned 28.03.2008.
2009 Thane – Nerul line inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways Shri Naranbhai Rathwa by flagging off
Suburban train from Thane to Panvel on 09.01.2009.
2009 3 Additional coaches in Suburban Train reserved for ladies in the morning peak from 27.01.2009.
2009 Kalyan-Titwala section including 5th & 6th line between Kalyan and Diwa switched over from 1500 volts DC to 25 kV
AC traction from 03.05.2009.
2009 Gigantic task of regardering of 3 spans of Ehegaon viaduct bridge in Kasara-Igatpuri section completed on 21.05.2009.
2009 “Ladies Special” Train on Harbour Line from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai to Panvel was flagged off through
video-conferencing by Hon’ble Minister of Heavy industries Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh in the presence of Hon’ble Minister
for Railways, Mamta Banerjee from New Delhi on 05.08.2009. There are two services (one in UP & DN direction daily on
Harbour line).
2009 3 new lifts have been commissioned on 15.08.2009 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus on Platforms (14 & 15), (16 & 17)
and 18 for the benefit of passengers.
2009 Two New Super fast trains 2289/2290 Mumbai-Nagpur Duranto (Tri-weekly) and 2133/2134 Mumbai-Karwar Express
(Tri-weekly) were flagged off on 21.11.2009 by Hon’ble Minister for Railways Ms Mamta Banerjee in the presence of
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Ashok Chavan.
2009 The first in-house “Mechanized Laundry” on Indian Railways at Wadibunder was inaugurated by video conferencing on
21.11.2009 by Hon’ble Minister for Railways Ms Mamta Banerjee in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of
Maharashtra Shri Ashok Chavan.
2009 36, 9-Car services were augmented to 12-Car services on Main line from 23.11.2009. (472, 12-car EMU services per
day)
2009 50, 9-car services were augmented to 12-car services on main line with effect from 1.12.2009, thereby increased to
running of 522, 12-car services per day.
2009 One golf cart type battery operated four-seater vehicle has been provided at CSTM on 11.12.2009 for ferrying
physically challenged and senior citizens within the station premises free of cost.
2009 50 additional Suburban services have been introduced over Harbour & Trans Harbour line with effect from 21.12.2009.
Suburban services increased from 1,414 to 1,464 trains per day.

2010 New train 2542/2541 Gorakhpur Express (tri-weekly) introduced from 10.02.2010.
2010 New train 2749/2750 Vishakhapatnam Express (bi-weekly) from LTT to Vishakhapatnam introduced from 24.03.2010.
2010 7th line between CSTM-MZN commissioned on 31.03.2010.
2010 26 New Suburban services introduced on mainline on 30.04.2010. Suburban services increased from 1,464 to 1,494
trains per day.

2010 New train 2131/2132 Dadar-Shirdi Express (tri-weekly) introduced from 28.08.2010.
2010 Vikhroli-Thane 5th & 6th line opened to Goods Traffic on 15.10.2010.
2010 50, 9-car services augmented into 12-Car services and 3 New services introduced w.e.f. 21.10.2010. Total number of
Suburban services per day increased from 1,556 to 1,559. 12-car services increased from 621 to 671. On main line on
Sunday/holidays all services running with 12 car rakes w.e.f. 24.10.2010.
2010 Augmentation of 9-Car rake of K-30 Ladies Special into 12-Car rake running between Kalyan and CSTM during the
morning peak w.e.f. 01.12.2010. The number of 12-Car services on Main line increased from 671 to 681 per day.
2010 For the first time 12-Car services introduced on Trans-harbour line section and 14 additional Shuttle services introduced
between Vadala road and Navi-Mumbai w.e.f. 21.12.2010. Total number of Suburban services per day increased from
1,559 to 1573. 12-Car services from 681 to 809.
2011 New train 12563 LTT-ALD (Weekly) introduced w.e.f. 26.01.2011.
2011 New train 12143 LTT-SLN (Weekly) introduced w.e.f. 26.01.2011.
2011 New train 12171 LTT-HW (Bi-weekly) introduced w.e.f. 31.01.2011.

nice to see such meaningful & important information about cr yet lot of things to do in 2015 like nasik to nzm sf train bsl to nk local and much extra work we need a train in afternoon after 2 pm to awb from nk which leave us awb at around 6
