Krishna Kumar 206 blog postsKasargod-Byndoor Passenger will be extended upto Guruvayur, as stated by former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. He stated that the train shall be renamed as Murali - Mookambika Passenger. If so, the arrival timing at Byndoor need to be revised to evening, instead of 11.50AM. Otherwise the train will have to start from Guruvayur at night time(around 9PM). Passenger train will be unfit, without sleeper coaches to run during night time and difficult for the passengers between Thrissur to Kasargod to wait for the train during mid-night. Also, the train shall be extended upto Murdeshwar, which is just 30km north of Byndoor, in order to avoid single track station termination of the train and easy passing of other trains.

Unfortunately, it will be a passenger train to run such a long distance for around 500km from Guruvayur to Byndoor Mookambika Road. If it would have been express train, the running time could be reduced to less than 9 - 10 hours, instead of 15 hours by passenger train. It should have been superfast daily express train running during daytime. Hope new daily superfast express will be introduced between Guruvayur & Byndoor(or Karwar/Goa) in this month's budget, which will be using two separate rakes. Also, hope the present Kasargod-Byndoor passenger will be extended upto Kannur , soon.
If it is extended to Guruvayur then it will be made Past Passenger or even can up grade to ICE Express but this extension to Guruvayur has remote chance.
