ndore : Union Railway Minister Suresh P Prabhu has assured to start three summer special trains from the city next month. He also ordered the railways officials to complete BG work of Laxmibai Nagar-Indore section within two months.
Prabhu gave these assurances to local MP and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan during a meeting with her. Member of the Railway Board (Traffic) Ajay Shukla, Member (Mechanical Engineering) VK Gupta and Executive Director Guha were also present during the meeting at Mahajan’s office in Parliament House.

during the meeting, told Free Press that Prabhu had assured Mahajan to start three summer special trains from the city for Kochuveli, Patna and Sealdah from the first week of April. The detailed schedule of the trains is expected to be released by the end this month. It may be recalled that the Ratlam Division had sent a proposal for 7 summer specials from the city to the Western Railway headquarters, but the HQ sanctioned just one train for Patna. Even the Railway Minister and Railway Board had received complaints over the attitude of the WR on sanctioning just one train to the city.
When Mahajan drew the attention of the minister towards non-completion of BG work of just 4km long Laxmibai Nagar-Indore section, Prabhu immediately instructed Gupta to complete the project within 2 months. Gupta said that the signaling work is yet to complete and it may take 3 months. The Railway Minister also informed Mahajan about the progress of Indore-Mhow-Tihi BG project.
