Rang De Basanti^ 58853 blog postsAny body who wants to travel to Thane / Mulund etc, and nearby areas, plz book tkt till Dadar , get down at KYN and board a Local to Thane...it will save lot of hassles...also no need to buy different ticket from Kalyan to Thane / Mulund etc, as this Tkt is valid till Dadar.

Onboard a Suburban train , there will no TC or ticket checking.
Only checking will be done when u alight your train at any station.
At station premises, TC checks the Ticket and that only thing matters to him is Date of Journey on ticket and is the Alighting station is correct or not.

i personally travelled in 12142 and was to travel to thane, and TTE advised me the same...to get down at KYN, and take local to Thane..and off-course the TTE was of CR who wd have had been aware of rules, esp in mumbai areas,,,so I take it as correct advice by TTE..
Yes... Once a tte told me that..with gen, SL, & 3A tkt.. You are permitted to travel in 2nd class of emu, 2A wala can travel in 1st class..
