Terminus congestion issue in HWH main reason for no extension . otherwise ASN HWH route has much more capacity than present utilization
Presently there is no slot for maintenance and berthing of rakes at Howrah station. Moreover, existing path of Mail/Exp, Passenger and Suburban trains over Howrah area is closely knitted and the Line Capacity utilization is 114 %. It may therefore be understood that provision of any additional service in Howrah area with the present infrastructure is operationally not feasible
