Everyone knows if a train is running late, ONLY RailFans know WHY it is late

Hi everyone, thanks for the discussion on this issue. As our community grows, everyone's input becomes important. Although the moderator has nominated the initial set of admins based on their past contributions and responsible actions, new admins can be nominated by any other admin. Moreover, people can also directly request to become admin.
The current set of admin members tend to be very knowledgable in the Railway field as well, and are trying their best to answer the queries. However, it is definitely not an eligibility criteria to be a railway expert. We just need responsible people who maintain the quality of this forum and the rest of the site, whenever they have some time.

there are many more train edit features that are coming up that would need admin help. If such features were left open to the entire public, then there won't be any reliability.
For example, we currently allow anyone to edit pantry and platform info. Although there have been many people putting in accurate info, it is still unreliable since anyone can vandalize that piece. So platform and pantry info on this site are unreliable.
Also, previously we had a "Station Local Phone" info on individual stations. But then people starting adding other people's phone on it, who then started receiving railway enquiry calls, and thereafter we received complaints from such people.
So, the purpose of the admin, is to give some higher change/edit privileges to some people, whose inputs are respected by the rest of the public. This process lends some credibility and reliability to the info found on this site.
