hello and thanks for a very handy and useful website. I was curious to know about one technical aspect: How did you connect with Indian railways database dynamically? If you could share some info abut it or provide any sort of hint where I can get relevant info about it to help me design an Yatra.com or makemytrip.com typw website, I would be highly obliged. Anyway, yours is such a neat and clean and fast website with great functionality that makes me really envious. Manu.

Thanks Manu (BlueQuark), for the compliment. We do not dynamically connect to any database. We just do custom search engine crawling, like for instance Google News (which crawls news sites) or Technorati (which crawls blog sites), and present the same publicly available distributed information in an aggregated manner. We, of course, also do post-processing of the raw data, sanitize it, aggregate it with info from other places, and so forth.
Most search sites, including Google and Bing, work in a similar fashion, where post-processing of the information is done to remove spam and duplicate/spurious content. The companies you mentioned, in all probability, might be functioning similarly. One difference here is that we also do a lot of laborious manual corrections, incorporating the

suggestions of our blogger community.
So, quite a lot of info on this site is originally created from direct first-hand information provided by train travellers/bloggers. Our experienced bloggers and admins are involved with trains/Indian Railways on a day-to-day basis (either professionally or as a hobby), and their inputs are incorporated into the info provided.
All the best with your endeavour.

hello Sir, I felt truely grateful for your kind reply so promptly, fast and in detail. That was quite unlike our Indian style of functionaing that takes so much in-ordinate delays in doing every small things. Quite impressive, I must say. Thanks for giving me hint about showing results here through the search functionality. I wish I could learn more about this functionality from you so that I could apply it on my website. I would be happy tp pay the fee too for your valuable time. I just wish to provide my users similar functionality on my website as you show here. Thanking you sincerely.
