I have booked the ticket from Pune to Renigunta for 13/08/2011. While booking by mistake I have mentioned my kid's age 28 while actually he is 12 year old. Is there any problem for a passanger if wrong age is mentioned while booking ticket.

Yes its wrong
A 12 yrs child cannot travel on a 28 yrs old ticket as mentioned
better cancel the ticket and book another

yes it will be problem
few years back we faced the same problem and paid fine for starting station to destination station for same class of that train.
But i think no need to cancel u can just approach chief reservation clerk and write a letter and change that age.
probably they may ask for blood relation proof.

Assuming that u have done PRS booking,
If u have mentioned your childs age as 28 yrs in the reservation form, then the reservation clerk would not have given u child ticket.
If the case is that of charging child fare and mentioning age as 28 yrs, then the problem is creation of Res clerk. So just approach the reservation supervisor and the problem will be corrected, in the database. On your tkt, they will amend the age in pen or may even issue new tkt called modified tkt..and it will...
