This is an Internet photo of Saharanpur Jn dating back to 1907 , 12 years before Jallianwalabagh Tragedy . These lamp posts are found missing today at SRE . Looks like the UMB - SRE - LKO Rail Line had opened back in 1890s . Thanks .

As a result of this , IR's DLW , Varanasi (Then Benaras) could not design these locos . Mughalsarai Diesel Loco Shed used to home these maroon beauties (And one of them was decked up like a bride in front of HWH Raj Exp in the inaugural scene of Super Exp Train in the 1980 Hindi Blockbuster Film "The Burning Train") . This loco was the King of the MGS -

SRE Route via BSB - SLN - LKO - BE - MB . In these last days of late 1990s , these locos were assigned duties of hauling Freight Trains under Northern Railways . Today , one of them are plinthed in the National Railway Museum , New Delhi and the others have been scrapped in rail scrap yards near Lucknow by 2004 . Thanks .
