Only station to have Degree Engineering College in the whole Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. SSPM College of Engineering is just 1 km away from station.
Sindhudurg shikshan prasarak mandals college of engineering Kankavali.
It's very famous collage in south Konkan & western maharashtra(Kolhapur, sangali).Many local student, plus students from Mumbai, north Konkan, ratnagiri, Kolhapur, sangli, goa studying in sspm.
It's comes under Mumbai University.
