If upper class has vacant seats then you can be upgraded without any fare difference and also you must have checked the option of upgradation.
if you check the up gradation box and seats are available in AC then they will allot .
No I guess...Only when the lower class has WL/RAC and upper class has vacant seats, up gradation is done to accomadate the WL passengers. If both the class have vacant seats, then up-gradation is not done.
If the lower class has wl and i n the upper class has vacant berths then up gradation will happen.
