The remains of the legendary Dhanbad - Jharia - Patherdih railway line in Dhanbad . . .
Really sad to see a tragic end of once a lifeline connectivity between Dhanbad & Jharia which was closed around 11 yrs ago .

The fire is a great mystery, greatest minds have not been able to figure out a way to stop it. The fire was first spotted in 1916 and it is continuously burning till date.
The fire brewed up as a result of decades of negligence!
The Swarna Rekha was introduced in 2002 and I was on board the first run.
Unlike the Swarna Rekha of today which is a pale shadow of itself, The Swarna Rekha was a speedster when it were introduced.
It used to get a diesel alco (KHIT KHIT Engine) from DHN to ADRA and...
