I have faced this problem many times that seats are available from mysore but not from bangalore.
But if i change the boarding point to banglore (book ticket from mysore to bangalore) my ticket gets reserved as WL eventhough there are seats from mysore.
In such cases can we book the tatkal quota from the origin station to the destination and change the boarding point manually by going to the counter incase of Online booking and still retain the seats?

213 has a quota of 2 birth at S, PANP, CPT, MAD, CPT, RMGN.

there are other ways of getting comfirmed tickets for trains starting from mysore also depending on the train that one wishes to travel.

I was chking for tickets to chennai from bangalore in a normal quota
I only got this train (dont remember the number) which starts from mysore to chennai.

if its 6221 kaveri exp then book the ticket from KGI insted of MYS. KGI also has the same quota as MYS. By doing this you will not have to change the boarding station also as it comes under Bangalore only.
