connected automatically after two rings after which an SMS will reach in the inbox of the caller that will contain information about the status of the trains.
Ravinder Bhakar, spokesperson, WR, said that the railway authorities have tied up with a private firm to facilitate this service.
“The infor mation on the services will be communicated to the firm by the railways, which in turn will be conveyed to the passengers who call the number,” he said.
According to WR, the service is free of charge. Anyone with a mobile phone can use this service.
The WR operates 1,305 suburban services on it network daily between Churchgate and Virar.
“Commuters can also log on to www. mobitip. info for updates on scheduled times of the suburban trains,” Bhakar said.
