Krishna Kumar 206 blog postsPlease Introduce New Fast Passenger Between Kannur and Karwar via Mangalore Central. As it is a long standing demand for the passengers between Kannur & Mangalore also Mangalore & North Canara to have a convenient passenger train for office/business hours passenger train between these cities, please introduce new passenger train between Kannur and Karwar. Kannur-Karwar Fast Passenger neeed to start from Kannur at 1PM everday for Karwar, as a connection to Mangalore and Karwar for the passengers from Ernakulam-Kannur Intercity Express(16305), which is arriving Kannur at 12.30hrs. Also, this train will serve as 1PM noon time return office/business purpose train to Payyannur/Kasargod areas from Kannur. As this proposed train will reach Mangalore Central at 4PM, the train can start from Mangalore Central for Karwar at 4.15 PM, it will serve as the evening return Business/Office hour train for South Canara and North Canara areas from Mangalore. Extra rake is must, as it is used to return as CAN-SRR - passenger. The 3:45 at Karwar is too early to leave.
Yes. I agree. One Extra rake is required to run this proposed train, but not two rakes.
As at present(Monsoon), LTT-MAQ Matsyagandha Superfast Express is leaving at 03:56AM from Karwar and reaching Mangalore Central at 10.25 AM, the proposed timing for this fast passenger from Karwar cannot be after 4AM, as a fast passenger train cannot overtake a superfast express, eventhough 10.25 AM arrival at Mangalore Central is after 1 hour extra time compensation after Suratkal(dep : 9.00AM). So, during Monsoon this proposed train can leave Karwar only at 3.45AM, considering 10 minutes gap between the 2 trains. Also, extra 15 minutes season safety compensation can be maintained during monsoon, if leaving from Karwar at 3.45AM....
