Traveling by 17209 to CCT today. Reached almost every station after JTJ on time or before time. Now absolutely ripping after Gudur! For the first time in my experience, she reached 15 min BT at TPTY and departed on time. And no ego-hurting overtake by Narayanadri also so far!
2AC is not full today and passengers have been shifted from A2 to AE1 and AE1 has been locked.

Didn't expect to see this. was expecting 4th line with apron and blab blab seeing the initial pics at time of construction. :|
There is no structural connection between 4th pf and the station building towards Bhanugudi side. And this will be encouragment for ticket less travelers from RJY-CCT :)

I was talking to the porters and they were saying that this PF will be used for some local services between SLO and CCT. Apparently there are some proposals to run regular memu/demu/passenger from Kakinada to SLO/Tuni. The DEMU service between KLPH and Tuni that ran during Pushkaram was a hit and there is a serious lobby to regularise it.

Whatever it is , a pf without a dedicated line (or) a line with both sides pf is a mere waste for the passenger traffic of CCT. If we think space might be a constraint, even that is not the case as space is clearly visible in the pics... if at all they would have felt space is seriously a constraint, 4th line would be more benificial which can be used as a parking line than this so called 4th pf.

Space was a constraint here. Beyond the reservation complex, there is a road running adjacent to the 3rd PF's track And there is a railway function hall also. For a full fledged track + PF combo, the road has to be closed and the function hall demolished. Closing the road was apparently the bottleneck as they couldn't get the permission for it especially because of the congestion there due to the new over bridge construction nearby. Without closing it down, a new track will be only long enough for a 13-15 coach rake and this double-discharge PF was constructed instead.
However, looks like surveys are being done for some expansion work at the old port station. I

could see some survey works going on in the space between the C&W and the old port station yard. There is enough space there for an extra pit line and 2-3 parking lines and some proposals for expansion were also floating around earlier.I'll check few more times for confirmation and post some pics.

I agree of u saying that space might be a constraint towards the west side of station building coz of dat road and building. But there is ample space to the east side of the station building i.e towards the existing bhanugudi fly over, where the 4th pf can be extended beyond the 3rd pf such that it length cater to 20-21 coaches.
And its good if something turns out and materializes finally in expansion of yard.
