VISAKHAPATNAM: The double-decker train between Tirupati and Visakhapatnam via Vijayawada is likely to be withdrawn after the Krishna Pushkarams. At present the train is run as a special train between the two cities.
According to sources, the response from passengers is not encouraging and the railway authorities are planning to withdraw the service after the Pushkarams. The train was introduced after several representations from elected representatives.

nothing wrong in withdrawing if it is not feasible to run with modified and affordable fare and timings.

Sources said the double-decker train was introduced between Visakhapatnam and Tirupati on trial basis during the Pushkarams. But the rush is not on expected lines. The occupancy ratio is also not up to the mark. The train is fully air-conditioned.
"Based on our previous records and the demand from passengers, we have noticed that the double-decker train is not much in demand. The fare is more compared to trains like Ratnachal Express between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada and Janmabhumi Express between Vizag and Secunderabad," said a senior railway officer. The train also takes more time to reach the destination. According to the schedule, the train is slated to reach Vijayawada in five hours and a half from Visakhapatnam. However, it takes about eight hours. The train is operated between East Coast Railway (ECoR) and SCR.

Because of miss communication between passengers and Railways this train is not getting proper occupancy up to date.
