LTT AC Duronto Express climbs longest bridge of Konkan Railway!
Finally got a chance to visit one of the best spots in Konkan Railway, Honnavar Sharavati Bridge which is nothing short of an engineering marvel! Bang on time AC Duronto Express bound to Mumbai climbs the "B"bridge over Sharavati river, which happens to be the longest Konkan Railway bridge. It was powered by a stunning looking Re-built Alco from Kalyan DLS! This engineering marvel was completed in 1994, and is a whopping 2060m long. The train was doing close to 90 kmph which is the section MPS during monsoon TT of KR! During non-monsoon season, one can see trains blasting through here at flat 110 kmph!
