Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, has said that the Ministry of Railways has released Rs. 327 crore for line doubling works in and around Mangaluru. In a release, the MP said line doubling between Mangaluru Junction and Panambur (19 km) was already under progress at a cost of Rs. 327 crore. Another Rs. 100 crore had been set apart for this project in the current financial year. He also said Rs. 18.93 crore is released for line doubling between Netravathi Cabin and Mangaluru Central Railway Station (1.5 km).
