A rare find on e-bay, a third-class ticket from Cocanada port to Calcutta dated 30th May,1903. If the bottom left corner is interpreted as the cost ( as the notation is similar to monetary notations from that time), the ticket costs 8 rupees and 8 annas ( 8.5 rupees).
Was Howrah station back then known as Calcutta?
Edit: Records from 1907 mention slip a coach from Kakinada ( probably multiple coaches as well) being attached to the Calcutta-Madras mail at SLO based on feasibility. Probably this arrangement worked...
