The slip coach was due to the gauge conversion work going on in the SC MUE stretch. Ajanta was rerouted via Parli, and a slip portion used to run as Parli Parbhani link, that used to be attached to Ajanta at PBN.
When we traveled, we had to cover SC Nanded by MG,travel by bus to Purna ( at 1:30 in the night), and a 3 coach slip from Purna to MMR. Overtime, the SC MUE route became more broken and the slip was shortened.

That slip coach was very useful for intermediate passengers from bidar, balki, zahirabad etc.
The general coach of Ajanta was always filled to brim with end to end passengers.
It was a perfect train for me to travel between bidar and SC

TRIP HAS ENDED.
Reached Nagarsol PF2 at 5:45AM. Platform and FOB are fully ready. The roofs for the sheds are yet to be laid. The taxi stand for Shirdi has also shifted to the PF2 side, now avoiding the traffic jam at the level crossing outside the station.

That slip coach to Purna was to connect to Purna-Jaipur MG exp during those days.
